Marvell Scott was known as a sportcaster and part of the WABC Channel 7 news team. Scott, who is now a doctor, left the station over a year ago to practice sports medicine. Text messaging has quickly become one of the largest forms of communication in recent years. And, one Brooklyn man, enraged over his girlfriend’s actions sent her a text message telling her that he was going to kill her. It seems she left a party that the two were attending and didn’t bother telling him. And, so he sent her message threatening her life. The victim is a 25-year-old mother of two. She was found beaten and strangled not long after her married lover followed her home. A man told his nephew that according to a family friend, he would recover from cancer. Barnes and Nobel doesn’t rank up there with most robbed stores probably but if someone plans to rob a book store, law books might need to be on their radar. Three suspects have been nabbed for taking over $1,000 worth of book from the Barnes & Nobel across from Lincoln Center. The Barnes and Nobel on Broadway and West 67th Street on the Upper West Side reported a large number of books missing. Undercover officers were brought in to help catch up with the book thieves. The officers followed him out of the store as he took the bag onto a bus toward the Upper East Side.

Under cover officers followed the suspect to East 86th Street and Lexington Avenue and observed as he met with two other suspects who allegedly gave him cash and put the bag into the bag of a van. An Ecuador-ean immigrant in Patchogue died at the hands of two suspects. One of the suspects is only eighteen and may take a plea while the other suspect is nineteen was due in court next week. These two teens, and five others, are charged with first-degree gang assault and fourth degree conspiracy in relation to the killing of the man. The teens also face charges for other crimes in which they are suspects.

The bust labeled “Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush” definitely has the characteristics of a big time organization. Marijuana and $1.1 million in cash was found and it is thought to be the profits from a money-laundering ring and even has ties to a mob. The apartment on Mulberry Street is located near part of the Bonanno crime family’s turf.

Two men were arrested last month in conjunction with this drug ring. A photo of one of these men in a field of marijuana was found in the flat and by all indications, the drugs were headed to California to fund a Mexican cocaine purchase and the rest would be shipped to Canada.

Two other suspects of the drug ring are Dehran Duckworth, a drummer in the band Narhed and a real estate agent. These criminals were caught last month with a duffel bag holding five pounds of marijuana. The bag was in a BMW, which was belonged to one of the suspects. The pot was found shrink-wrapped to help hide the odor of the pot and the other chemicals used in processing. The autopsy was inconclusive and the child’s father who was distraught said the woman was a good mother and he couldn’t imagine why she would do such a thing. Two women in Brooklyn were the suspects of a hit and run. And days after the car accident, the police were still looking for clues and had made no arrest. Najibullah ‘subway bomb plotter’ Zazi’s father, Mohammed Wali Zazi is being charged as an accomplice in his son’s attempt to detonate his home made devices in the transit system. One woman’s remains were found in a suitcase in a Queens park 2008 according to police sources.
