Ex-con Claims To Be Victim in Knifing

A man linked to New York crime families claims to have been the victim in a knife fight with a Brooklyn pizza maker. The mob-linked suspect even went so far as to show his knife wounds to a judge in court. He was charged with murder in this case that has confused both prosecutors and defense thus far.
The pizza maker had cuts all over his body from the scuffle on Smith Street in Carroll Gardens, and he faces charges himself – felony assault, with more that might be coming, a spokesman for the District Attorney revealed to NY City Criminal Lawyers.
“I got arrested because of all the publicity,” said the pizza maker as he lay in a hospital bed in Lutheran Hospital. “They think this is some kind of mob story. I was just trying to defend myself.”
Neither the pizza maker, owner of a famous shop which such people as Beyonce and Jay-Z patronize, nor the suspect have been cooperating with authorities.
While the pizza shop owner was hospitalized, the suspect was arraigned. The suspect’s attorney insists his client did not start the fight.
The suspect has already been linked to crime families. In court, he lifted his shirt to show his chest was covered with bandages, as his attorney pleaded his case.
Prosecutors say that the suspect is a “violent predator”. It is their case that the pizza maker “suffered far worse injuries.”
The suspect’s attorney claims the large knife found on the scene belonged to the pizza maker, but prosecutors insist it belonged to the suspect. Since the suspect is on probation until 2013 for his complicity in a series of bank robberys across the country, he was held in lieu of $250,000 bail.
The judge in the case took steps to make sure the bail furnished by the suspect did not come from any criminal sources.
Despite the protests of the pizza makers, the whole case looks very much like something in which the mob might be involved.
Not only does the suspect have ties to mobsters, but NY City Criminal Lawyers have learned the pizza maker may have given a no-show job to a mobster in another crime family.

Ex-Marine Attacks Wife In Judge’s Chambers

An ex-Marine who attacked his wife during a final divorce hearing in a judge’s chambers had his bond set at $1 million. The attack split her lip and caused swelling and bruising to her head, to the point she had to be hospitalized.
The 28-year-old ex-Marine was only subdued with the aid of a stun gun and has been charged with felony battery, domestic violence and resisting arrest without violence, police.
The accused man’s wife is also a former Marine, 23 years old. She was taken to Holy Cross Hospital and declared to be in stable condition, after sustaining facial fractures, a torn lip, and a broken nose, her 30-year-old boyfriend revealed to N York Criminal Lawyers.
Just in case, she was held overnight in the intensive care unit to watch for brain trauma.
The wife’s attorney said that the assault was “unexpected” and “surreal”.
“He was punching with a true vengeance. It was vicious,” the attorney mentioned. He managed to hold the accused until deputies arrived. “He was in a rage.”
Married in 2006, the couple have a 1-year-old daughter and a 3-year-old son.
The accused did not have an attorney and did not wish to pay child support. He also had a problem with a judge telling him he had restricted visitation rights and left the chambers. When he returned it was only to shout he didn’t have to obey orders, then leave again, New York Criminal Lawyers have learned.
When he returned, he rushed in and started beating his wife with closed fists, police sources explained. He attacked her from behind, put his hands around her neck, and struck her several times on the side of her face, knocking her unconscious with the first blow. When violence like this is reported in Suffolk or Nassau County, police are quick to respond and justice is swift.
“I’m in shock and disbelief,” the boyfriend stated. “I didn’t think anybody could take it to that extreme, much less in a judge’s chambers at that. Words, to be honest with you, could not describe what went on.”

Chief Deputy District Attorney Arrested on Drug Charges

According to a New York Criminal Lawyer, a Chief Deputy District Attorney was arrested and accused of possession of rock cocaine in Las Vegas. Drug Possession in New York City or Long Island are serious crimes with huge penalties for the offender.

The 10-year veteran was working on a task force and handled celebrity drug scandals including busts of Paris Hilton and Bruno Mars. He could not be reached for comment regarding this matter. This would also be a very serious matter in Brooklyn, NY.

A District Attorney in the area revealed that in going over the defendant’s cases, he was relieved that there had been no wrongful prosecutions, explaining that everything checked out in the system and there should be no concern that the Deputy Chief had access to the drugs that were supposed to be evidence.
A Las Vegas Officer stopped the District Attorney’s white BMW a little before 5pm on Saturday near Desert Inn Road, an area where drugs are rampant. As officers got near the car, a passenger, 43, jumped out of the passenger side and ran. He later told officers that he knew the defendant only as "Joe," a regular customer who would call his cell phone to set up small drug buys. The passenger has had trouble with the law in the past, but there is no indication he was in a case involved with the defendant.

The Chief Deputy was supposedly a regular customer buying the drugs two to three times a week for at least the past six months. It is unclear at this time whether his actions hindered any investigations. Although his 10-year marriage ended in divorce in 2005, the defendant has had no trouble with the law other than this recent arrest. As a prosecutor, handled several high profile cases; in addition to the Paris Hilton and Bruno Mars cases, he also handled the case of Steven Zegrean, a casino shooter that was convicted in 2009 for an attack two years earlier that left four people wounded.

No statement was made from the defendant and he is scheduled to appear in Las Vegas Justice Court in May.

Many Crimes Investigated by Authorities in New York and New jersey

NY City Criminal Lawyers can help with a great many charges, from the major to the minor, making sure all sides get a fair hearing.
In one unusual case, a female transit officer was accused of beating a foul-mouthed motorist who fought with her and ripped all the clothing from her upper half, leaving her topless.
The officer testified she acted in self-defense at her felony assault trial. She is charged with attacking a 37-year-old aspiring poet in August 16, 2008, over an argument about an open car door.
“I was standing there topless. My shirt was totally ripped off and my bra was ripped off,” the 40-year-old officer testified in tears in Bronx Criminal Court.
She was off-duty at the time of the incident, driving with another off-duty transit cop, when they found themselves blocked by the aspiring poet’s car door.
The officers attacked the poet with pepper spray, fists, batons, and even a handgun, before fleeing the scene. The officer on trial was even knocked to the ground at one point, she testified.
In another story, a New Jersey man received a five-year sentence for collecting tax refunds from falsified tax returns – he was using the data of both adult and pediatric cancer patients to scam the government.
The 29-year-old mean pleaded guilty to conspiracy to file false claims and commit credit card fraud. In addition to his prison time, he was also ordered to pay almost $300,000 by way or restitution.
A more tragic story happened more than an ocean away in Minsk, Belarus, where an explosion killed 11 people during the evening rush hour. The president of Belarus believes it was an attempt to destabilize the country.
The blast occurred on one of the busiest underground rail junctions in the city, only about 100 yards from the headquarters of the president himself.
“There was blood everywhere, in splashes and in pools. I saw pieces of flesh. It was terrible,” a 47-year-old man said.
“Prosecutors qualify this as a terrorist act,” a source in the president’s administration explained NY City Criminal Lawyers.

A local man is arrested and charged with his seventh DUI in 20 years

A North Ridgeville man was recently arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, DWI which is his seventh similar charge in the past 25 years. In NYC, this would lead to serious jail time.

The 40-year old North Ridgeville native appears to be expressing regret in regards to his irresponsible actions; DUI’s account for countless deaths across the nation every year. In 1991, the defendant was convicted of his first DUI. Merely a year later he was charged with a further two counts, and three additional counts of DUI around a decade later. This recent charge, his seventh, appears to stem from the recent death of the man’s father, a hardship that led him to this current chargeable offense. A New York City Criminal Lawyer reveals that the defendant expressed sorrow regarding the most recent incident, saying “I know what I've done is a very serious offense. Sobriety is my No. 1 priority”. This admittance was directed toward the Huron County Common Pleas Judge during the course of the sentence hearing of the convicted, which occurred on Tuesday March 01.

The Common Pleas Judge was reported to have responded, “Drinking and driving ... is too big of a risk for the public”. The judge followed up his decisive comments with decisive action that included a lengthy driver’s license suspension of five years, as well as a monetary fine of $1500. This recent scenario involving the North Ridgeville man began last June, when he was pulled over for driving his vehicle without the use of headlights, while traveling west on U.S. 20, close to the nearby town of Wakeman. The man’s attorney was available for comment: “Since this incident, he has gotten back on track”. The attorney went on to comment upon his client’s foreseeable future: “I believe this (sentencing) will be a positive for him”.

As part of an important healing and restoration process, the convicted man finished a substance abuse program of his own volition, which no doubt showed his responsible initiative and had a positive effect on the judge’s decision. Additionally, "It is a fact that drinking and driving, no matter the circumstances, often results in undesirable consequences. Should you find yourself in such a situation that seems to be resulting in legal consequences, a New York Criminal Attorney is prepared to render service to you or those whom you care about.
It is discerns that the man has attended gatherings of AA, a commitment that the defendant himself has admitted to be wise indeed and worthy of continuation. As of now the North Ridgeville defendant is under three years of probation that includes random drug screens- screens that, if failed, would result in 2.5 years in prison. Brooklyn has tough laws against DWI as do most areas of New York City.

Arrest warrant issued for Long Beach fire captain in alleged drunk-driving crash

A fire captain from Long Beach, Long island was arrested on Wednesday for allegedly being over the legal drink drive limit when he crashed into a bicyclist.

The fire captain was driving his pickup truck when he hit a cyclist, who was injured and needing medical attention. It is alleged that the driver of the truck simply drove away without stopping to offer assistance to the bicyclist. It's a sad to think that someone who saves lives as part of their job can endanger them when driving.

The report handed to the New York Criminal Attorney states that the cyclist suffered bruising, severe cuts, trauma to the head and serious spinal injuries. His injuries required him to stay in hospital for two weeks. He still suffers from mobility, speech and memory loss problems as a result of the accident and is receiving ongoing treatment. The accident has affected the cyclist’s entire life.

It would be impossible for the driver of the truck not to realize that he hit the cyclist. The crash caused severe damage to the truck and left it splattered in blood. The driver either did not realize because he was intoxicated, or was aware but didn't want to be caught over the limit.

Fortunately two drivers witnessed the crash and called for medical assistance. They followed the fire chief to his home and called the local police department. Two hours after the crash it was found that he had an alcohol level of .24 percent – the limit is just .08 percent This is clearly DWI. The prosecutors argue that the driver was well over the legal limit and shouldn't of even been behind the wheel of a car. New York City as well as Long Island has heavy punishment for this crime.

Lawyers filed a number of charges against the driver, including a felony count of DWI, hit and run, and causing actual bodily injury. The trial is ongoing, but the New York City Criminal Lawyer said he could have a maximum sentence of over six years. Police are currently trying to track down the drunk driver who failed to attend court.

A Queens Suspect Pleads Not Guilty to Putting Woman in Coma

A Queens man pleaded not guilty to beating a petite Bronx woman into a coma even as the victim’s mother called him a coward. Apparently, the whole incident started over an East Village parking space.
The 35-year-old suspect pleaded not guilty to the charge of assault, even though he had already apologized for the February 25 attack. He also confessed to police on videotape.
“So I punched her in the face and I saw her fall to the ground,” he said, according to the sources of N York Criminal Lawyers. “I hit her because she hit me.”
The 25-year-old victim is still at Bellevue Hospital, as if this writing, but has awoken from her coma, according to her mother.
“It’s a huge miracle,” the victim’s mother said.
The victim had to undergo several sessions of brain surgery and still has a long way to go until she is fully recovered. New York Criminal Lawyers have learned that part of her skull may have to be removed due to her brain swelling. She will always have a scar from ear to ear over the top of her head.
“I don’t know if she will be able to work again, drive a car or walk without assistance,” the mother expressed.
The suspect told authorities he was “very, very” sorry and that he had hit the woman “out of reflex” after she smacked him. He was trying to back a Plymouth Voyager into a parking space she was attempting to save for her boyfriend.
The suspect, an electrician, says he fled the scene because the victim’s boyfriend was coming across the street. Though he stands at 5 feet, 7 inches, he claims he hit the woman, one inch shy of five feet, in self-defense.
“I find it so callous that he hit her and drove away like a coward,” the woman’s mother told. “It’s absurd that this happened over a parking spot. It’s absurd that he hit a girl and that he went to a party after he watched her hit the ground.”

Killer in The Bronx Also Mutilates Girlfriend’s Body

The suspect in the case of a man who stabbed his girlfriend to death did not only stab her. He didn’t even try to merely decapitate her. He attempted to destroy her face as well.
“It was pure anger,” a police source told New York Criminal Lawyers. The victim’s body was found, covered with blood, in an apartment on the Lower East Side. “He didn’t want her to leave and he didn’t want her to be beautiful for anyone else.”
According to the police, the 33-year-old suspect used several knives to slash his 23-year-old girlfriend, in a fit of rage. At one point, he cut her so hard that the tip broke from one of the blades.
She was killed by a stab wound in her neck. It left “a gaping stab wound to the left side of the torso from which internal organs were protruding”.
The suspect, a public relations worker, was held without bail. He has yet to enter a plea on his second-degree murder charge and has been placed on suicide watch.
He says the victim attacked him. New York City has many violent crimes like this one.
Prosecutors explained in their reports that the suspect was going to attempt to escape, but he called his father for advice as he fled. The suspect’s father told him it was best to turn himself in.
“There’s no way to hide,” the father reportedly told his son. “It would go easier on you… if you turned yourself in.”
“It’s a horror beyond words,” the father’s lawyer said. “His dad told him to do the right thing and he did.”
The fight in which the victim was killed was so loud it woke neighbors, witnesses recalled for New York City Criminal Lawyers. Police found blood everywhere.
The victim was a former student of Hunter College, currently working in sales. She was studying for a career in marketing and advertising.
The suspect was a freelancer, described by one of his clients as a “cool, chill guy” and had a young son from an earlier relationship.
“He wasn’t a monster,” the client said. “He was ambitious. This is not someone who goes around hacking people.”

Criminal Reports from the NYC Area

N York Criminal Lawyers have learned of the manhunt for a thief who robbed a bank in Manhattan and attempted to rob two others.
The 51-year-old suspect made his first attempt at a Chase branch on Eighth Ave., police sources reported. Witnesses say he had a demand note, but was forced to flee without money.
He returned to the same branch on Saturday and allegedly passed a note, but then took it back and left once again without any money – only to go to another bank minutes later. This time, he passed a note and escaped with the money.
In the Bronx, a man accused of laundering money was caught in Bronxdale after a police stop caught him with $200,000 in the trunk of a livery cab.
The 33-year-old suspect was seen by cops allegedly putting a box full of cash into the trunk of the cab. They also discovered that the box smelled strongly of cocaine. The suspect told police he had been paid by an unidentified person to take the cash to Manhattan.
According to sources, the police had been watching the laundering suspect for quite a while, suspecting he had money gained from drug sales or actual narcotics himself.
The police charged him with money laundering.
In other news, a man was charged with attacking a man with a pipe in Graniteville.
The 36-year-old suspect allegedly hit his victim in the face with his fist, then grabbed a pipe and hit him in the face again. The police were called to arrest the suspect and they charged him with criminal possession of a weapon, assault, and menacing.
There are any number of reasons someone might be arrested by the police, but only one good response – calling a NYC Criminal Lawyer. It could be something as minor as a traffic ticket or something as major as murder; but the right person can handle anything that faces their clients with skill, tenacity, and the discretion every client needs from their attorney.

Long Island Police Hot on Killer’s Trail

Police may have discovered the identity of the Long Island Ripper.
They say they are “looking at somebody”, according to sources, which refused to give further details about the crime.
This new development comes even as police are looking at what might be a link between the Long Island killer who is suspected of dumping the bodies of eight victims on Suffolk beaches and four murders of prostitutes that happened in Atlantic City in 2006.
“Our homicide detectives are in touch with the [Atlantic City] police,” a Suffolk police spokesman informed New York Criminal Lawyers. One of the New Jersey victims was on Long Island five weeks before she disappeared on the way to Atlantic City.
This victim’s husband recounted to New York Criminal Lawyers that his wife, who was addicted to crack and a prostitute, moved from Florida to Long Island in September 2006, hoping to get work for a friend and to regain custody of their two children, who were in foster care in New Jersey.
According to the husband, his wife did not handle the loss of her children well, after they found they could not get their children back.
“That drove her nuts and she started doing crack again. We were fighting and she hopped on a bus to Atlantic City. I never saw her again,” he said.
The killer changed tactics while on Long Island. The four bodies found in December were wrapped in burlap, all of them later found to be hookers from Craigslist. The newest bodies found, four more of them, were placed there in a different manner, which police have not disclosed.
Police feel these latest discoveries may have been there longer.
“We don’t know their sex, we don’t know their age, we don’t know anything about them,” a Suffolk police commissioner released to New York Criminal Lawyers. Regardless, they are still searching.
“It’s possible we missed something,” the commissioner said.
“We should tell people they should be careful with any contact they make with strangers, especially women involved in the escort business,” the commissioner warned.
In the meantime, the police continue their search for more information that will lead to the identity of the Long Island Ripper.

Charges were filed in the deadly crash that took the life of a middle-aged mother of nine from Pennsylvania. The two car crash that killed the young woman was operated by a Mississippi driver who fled the scene. Following arrest, authorities indicated to an NYC Criminal Lawyer, the man was being held without bail in a local county jail. The woman’s funeral was held while the Mississippi was awaiting trial.
The Mississippi driver is slated for a preliminary hearing in the next two weeks authorities explained to an NYC Criminal Lawyer. The driver is facing criminal charges to the tune of 18 counts. Authorities told an NY Criminal Lawyer that this was one of the charges against him. The chase came to an end when the Mississippi driver smashed into the Pennsylvania woman’s vehicle at an intersection. No details were available about the status of either vehicle following the accident. It was unclear whether the woman’s car was in motion or not at the time of impact. Five Teen Girls Face Assault Charges

Five Brooklyn high school girls stand accused of assaulting a talented music student with a padlock in a sock, all to keep her out of a talent show, sources told New York Criminal Lawyers.
“Yo, b***h, I got a lock,” one of the suspects reportedly said before they began beating the young singer.
The girl with the lock, 16 years old, and four of her friends are accused of attacking a 17-year-old senior at Brooklyn Academy High School. The singer was outside the home of her voice coach when the attack occurred.
Afterward, the victim had to have six stitches near her left ear. She also had a deep gash on her face, and bruising on her jaw.
“I wasn’t able to open my jaw. I wasn’t able to talk. I wasn’t able to sing,” the girl explained to New York Criminal Lawyers.
According to her, it was all about jealousy and the talent show. She even received a Facebook message, threatening her, saying “they were going to get her and hurt her so she wouldn’t ever be able to sing again,” her mother said.
Because of the attack, the talent show was cancelled. Witnesses say the attack happened quickly. The girls surrounded their victim and the ringleader began to hit her with the lock. The others joined in after that.
“I could see them hitting her and hitting her and hitting her with something,” a 22-year-old neighbor said. She was watching the whole thing from her apartment window.
“She started out on the stoop and you could tell she didn’t want to fight, but she came down and they fought with everybody hyping it up. She was bleeding.” In Manhattan, this crime would be treated the same way.
The victim’s friend tried to help, but she was also beaten, authorities revealed to New York Criminal Lawyers. Four of the teenaged attackers were arrested on the scene, with the fifth, the one with the lock, being arrested three days later.
One of the accused girls later confessed to being involved. “I did fight that day, but nothing was planned.” She is a student at Bedford-Stuyvesant Preparatory School. “There was a padlock involved.”

A Brooklyn Man Murders Girlfriend When Daughter Was In The House

A Brooklyn man is accused of strangling his girlfriend – while their 7-year-old daughter was in the house.
The 29-year-old victim was engaged in an argument with her 28-year-old boyfriend, just before 6 a.m. in their apartment on 50th Street in Sunset Park when the alleged attack occurred. Their young daughter was in another room in the apartment at the time, but she did not witness the murder.
The boyfriend said that his girlfriend attacked him with a knife and he was defending himself. Police have charged him with murder in the matter, nonetheless, leaving his fate and the circumstances of the woman’s death for a jury to decide.
A relative of the boyfriend speculated the fight may have been over the boyfriend’s suspicions that the victim was cheating on him. The relative also indicated that the pair had always had a contentious relationship, with arguments and breakups common.
The only one who knows the true story of what happens is the accused. He tells one story and the District Attorney’s Office has another. A jury will have to decide who has the more compelling story. The District Attorney already has trained lawyers for the prosecution, leaving the defendant to fend for himself or take chances with a public defender. It would be much better for anyone is a similar situation to be sure his representation is just as capable as the prosecution, if not more so. That kind of quality legal counsel can be found in a NYork Criminal Lawyer.
It may look like any given case is clearly one way, but there may be details known only to the accused. These details might not seem like much to the common person, but someone with the training of a NYork Criminal Lawyer can make all those minor details relevant to the case. It might result in a reduced sentence. It could even result in exoneration. None of that can happen, though, without first gaining the best legal counsel you can find.

A Look at Crime in Manhattan and the Bronx

A camera bandit, once on the loose in the Flatiron District, has been caught, police revealed.
The 19-year-old suspect walked into a camera shop on West 22nd Street at 3 in the afternoon and asked to see an expensive camera, then took off with it when the store keeper turned around to answer the phone.
“He knew what he was stealing,” a store manager told N York Criminal Lawyers.
The suspect ran across the street, dodging through traffic on Sixth Avenue, to make his escape, according to the manager. It was only a day later when the suspect was caught – he tried to sell the camera to another dealer, and police soon had him in custody, police sources said.
The alleged thief has been linked to another theft, back in December, of another camera of the same brand, worth $3,350 from another shop in Manhattan, police explained to N York Criminal Lawyers.
In the Bronx, a burglar was caught on tape fleeing the scene of the crime – in this case a home invasion in Highbridge he allegedly engaged in with four accomplices.
The 50-year-old suspect and his four companions are said to have broken into an apartment on Cromwell Avenue at noon, one day in April. He helped tie up two of the victims, while one of his friends allegedly threatened another victim at gunpoint.
“Get the money or I am going to kill him!” one of the men allegedly yelled.
The thieves managed to take $3,000 Gucci shoes, a laptop computer, and some credit cards. They also broke at flat-screen television.
“If you say anything, we have your information,” one of the thieves said before departing.
The suspect in the case was allegedly caught on video tape from a surveillance camera leaving the crime scene with a big black plastic bag full of stolen goods.
The police quickly tracked him down, arresting him before the day was out. His accomplices are still at large, police sources told N York Criminal Lawyers. Police are still on the lookout for them and will likely catch them soon, since one of the thieves is in custody

Stories from Queens and Brooklyn

A suspected burglar has been caught on video tape in Queens and the search is on for a man who took some alcoholic beverages from a restaurant in Forest Hills, sources have revealed.
According to sources, the alleged thief broke in through the front window of the restaurant at 3 in the morning on March 29 and fled with some bottles of liquor.
In Brooklyn, a stripper and three of her friends, pole dancers, allegedly beat up an enemy of theirs in Sunset Park, authorities told New York Criminal Lawyers.
The 26-year-old woman and three other workers in her establishment are said to have attacked their victim at 4:10 a.m. on March 6 on the corner of 39th Street and Fourth Avenue.
Police explained in reports about the incident that the victim has been accused of pouring baby oil into the shoes of one of the women who later attacked her. No one yet knows why the victim would have done this, if it did indeed occur.
According to police, the vicious attack, in which the victim was punched and kicked in the head and face, resulted in brain swelling, some loss of vision, and a broken nose. She underwent surgery at Kings County Hospital.
The 26-year-old stripper later surrendered to police and faces charges of gang assault, menacing and harassment. According to her, she did nothing more than drive the vehicle which carried the other assailants. Police are still looking for the woman’s accomplices.
New York City Criminal Lawyers have heard of another alleged crime in Queens, this one involving a man who allegedly took cans of coffee from a Midwood supermarket at around 2 in the afternoon.
The 30-year-old suspect allegedly took 19 cans off coffee, packed them into a shopping back and walked past the registers and toward the exit, apparently not intending to pay for his caffeine craving.
Security confronted the suspect and he resisted, scratching a guard on the right cheek and nose in his attempt to get away, police indicated. The guard went to Lutheran Hospital, where his scratches were treated.

Two Stories of Crime in New York

A drug pusher may have been one of the few Americans to actually benefit from the events of September 11, 2001, New York Criminal Lawyers have learned. But now, his luck has run out.
The drug dealer may have already been in prison but for the fact that the evidence gathered against him happened to be in the World Trade Center on 9/11. Now another charge has surfaced and he will serve a five-year sentence for bail jumping – something he did more than 16 years ago, in an appeals court ruling.
Back in 1994, the deal was already on probation when he was arrested for allegedly being one of the men behind a crack ring in the Bronx. He was allowed to go on $200,000 bail, then went into hiding. In order to stay hidden, he even burned off his own fingerprints, sources have stated.
He was caught for drug dealing in 2007 and was sentenced to 151 months in prison. It was at that time he pleaded guilty to bail jumping in order to get a deal that would limit his stay in prison to no more than two years.
The judge wasn’t going for that, however. He claimed the bail jumper had made a “mockery of the constitutional right to bail” and made sure he got more than twice the two years – five years in total.
An appeal was made, but the Second Circuit Court of Appeals in Manhattan upheld the decision.
In other news, a fight between a former student and a school aide near a middle school in Queens resulted in hospitalization for one person and a sprained ankle for a dean who attempted to break up the fight, sources have revealed to New York Criminal Lawyers.
The argument between the two women started inside the school and moved outside, where their confrontation turned violent. During the fistfight on the playground, the dean attempted to intervene, but fell down as the others continued to fight.
Both of the fighters were arrested and charges are still pending.
One of the combatants was taken to the hospital, bleeding from the head. Authorities told N York Criminal Lawyers that none of the wounds were serious.

8 year-old Molested by Tutor

According to initial reports, an 8 year old girl was molested and sexually assaulted by the college student who was paid to be her tutor.
The girl said a tutor in her third-grade classroom at the Angelo Elementary School had put his hand down her pants many times, and molested her.
Then, the college student would very often touch her on the shoulder and tell her, “Good job,” the young girl told police. On Thursday, she said, that tutor –who was identified as a junior at a local college, indicated a New York City Criminal Lawyer—proceeded to rape her.
Later on that same day, she sought treatment at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, say the local police. Late Monday afternoon, police arrested the college student who is 21 years old on the college’s Easton campus. He was charged with rape of a child with force and indecent assault and battery of a minor under 14.
The defendant was arraigned Tuesday in Brockton District Court, where he decided to plead not guilty and was held on $20,000 bail.
He was ordered by a judge to stay away from the third grade girl, and also told he was to have no contact with minor children under the age of 16 unless they had parental supervision present at all times during the visit. He was also told he has to stay away from all elementary, middle and high schools until further notice. Sex Crimes committed in Manhattan, New York City call for a NY lawyer who knows the ropes.
The defendant’s parents declined to make a statement while leaving the courthouse after the arraignment. They told the local news station that they support their son. The case is scheduled for a probable-cause hearing on April 21.
The college junior tutored students at the city’s Angelo Elementary School as part of a Stonehill work-study program. Police said the supposed abuse happened on a several different dates. The young girl told police the events happened in the back of her classroom and other children were present while it was happening.

DUI Suspect Falls Asleep During Questioning in Springfield

A Massachusetts man whose license had been revoked due to previous charges of drunk driving fell asleep while being questioned by police, Springfield Police said to NY Criminal Lawyers.
The 34-year-old Springfield man was arrested in Indian Orchard, Mass., early one morning at around 2 a.m.
A Springfield police sergeant told NY Criminal Lawyers that officers observed the suspect pull a BMW into a plaza and park his vehicle next to a dumpster. The car had heavy damage to the front end.
There had already been a number of break-ins in the area, which prompted officers to investigate, to make sure there was no criminal activity. The suspect spotted the police and ran away to hide in some tall grass before police caught up. He was given a field sobriety test and asked a number of questions, during which the suspect fell asleep.
The suspect was asked at one point why he had run away from the police. According to the police sergeant, the suspect said “because I was drunk.” The sergeant explained to NY Criminal Lawyers that the suspect also admitted to using cocaine.
Inside the car, bottles of beer and liquor had been found, some of them already empty.
The suspect had already been arrested for operating under the influence in 2006 and again in 2009. The sergeant found the suspect’s driver’s license had already been revoked due to OUI.
The suspect has been arrested for charges of DWI (liquor), OUI (drugs), operating a vehicle without a license, resisting arrested, and an open container violation. He will be arraigned in Springfield District Court.
First time, or several strikes, everyone needs a good advocate when it comes to a criminal arrest. There are many attorneys out there who are willing to take on a case, but there are only some that are the best – the ones that ensure any given case will come to its best possible outcome. A trial could affect the entire future of a person and that person’s family, so it’s best not to take chances with substandard representation. DWI in The Bronx and Brooklyn, NY are crimes which are taken very seriously by law enforcement.

Stories from Around the City

The first story comes out of Queens.
A grocery worker, apparently tired of providing polite service, allegedly hit a customer in the face with a bat, ending an argument that happened in a shop in Flushing.
The 24-year-old grocer had been having heated words with the victim in the grocery store at about 1:30 in the morning when the customer stormed out.
According to official documents obtained, the grocery store worker wasn’t quite done yet. He followed the victim across the street, grabbed him by the shoulder, turned him around, and hit him in the face with the bat, knocking the victim unconscious.
The victim lost one tooth in the assault and five others so loose as to require later extraction. The grocery store worker was arrested and charged with gun possession and assault.
Elsewhere in Queens, a woman and her sister were attacked by a man with a machete, like a scene out of a horror movie, NYC Criminal Lawyers have learned. The attack occurred in Ozone Park at about 6 p.m.
The 60-year-old suspect was arguing with the two women near his home on Sutter Avenue, when he picked up a machete and threatened them, according to sources.
The women attempted to flee and the man with the machete gave chase, cutting one on the arms and body. Fortunately, the police arrived to rescue the women. The victims were hospitalized, but neither of them had life-threatening wounds, sources told New York Criminal Lawyers.
A story out of Brooklyn tells of a man has been arrested for a prank – Super Glue on his neighbor’s front door lock. A man from Red Hook has been arrested for the deed.
Surveillance video clearly shows the 41-year-old suspect putting glue on the lock, at 8:30 a.m., police revealed to New York Criminal Lawyers.
Later in the day, the victim came home and found himself unable to open his own door. The suspect, who is said to have been arguing with the victim, was arrested the next day.

Deadly Drug Cocktail Detected in Lethal Driver in Sacramento

A California driver involved in a deadly accident in 2009 may not have been driving drunk at the time of the accident, but authorities revealed to a New York City Criminal Lawyer that the man was under the influence of at least three other drugs.
The 26 year old Latino driver had blood levels showing marijuana, morphine, and methamphetamines at the time of the crash. The country district attorney’s office chief investigator disclosed in a recent report provided to a New York City Criminal Lawyer that the Latino driver was too seriously impaired to drive a motor vehicle. His intoxication may have led to the accident.
The California Highway Patrol led the investigation as noted by the New York City Criminal Lawyer. A witness close to the intoxicated driver said he had been drinking a malt liquor while driving enroute to Sacramento from Tulare. The perpetrator’s blood alcohol measured .02 ninety minutes following the fatal crash. That computes to about .05 at the time of the crash. Both blood alcohol levels are below the .08 legal limit in California by which a driver is considered legally drunk.
The suspect was travelling at 85 miles per hour westbound just outside Sacramento. He had four other passengers in his car. One adult and 3 children were in the car, ages 1, 4, and 10. The ten year old female passenger perished in the accident.
An off-duty civil servant witnessed the accident. The intoxicated driver came over a rise in the county road at a high rate of speed and overcorrected after coming downside. The vehicle veered left, then right, and careened off the road. The vehicle hit a yellow post head on. The car flipped five or six times after hitting the post. A CHP traffic officer at the scene determined it was six times. In Westchester and New York City, this crime would need a Westchester Lawyer to handle the case.
Two of the children were ejected from the vehicle. The portable seats remained in the vehicle. The dead child had fastened her seatbelt correctly but wasn’t wearing it the right way. She’d put the shoulder harness underneath the arm. The driver has been charged with manslaughter and child abuse.

Former TV Reporter in Philadelphia Accused in Slapping Incident—Acquitted

A former television news reporter became the news recently. The slapping incident allegedly occurred in a parking area at the United Nations (UN), when former WPIX reporter, Vince DeMentri was accused of slapping the chauffer of the Bahamian diplomat for blocking a press-only parking spot. He was charged soon after the alleged incident with misdemeanor assault and harassment charges. The charges have been vehemently denied by DeMentri from the beginning.
According to the New York Criminal Attorney’s sources, DeMentri’s best witness turned out to be the accuser himself. Court records indicate that the Bahamian diplomat’s chauffer made a statement under oath that apparently was not included in his original police report. In his testimony, he stated that DeMentri called him the n-word. Defense attorneys would then argue against the credibility of the accuser and that his motives were not for justice, rather that the charges were an attempt to collect the financial rewards of suing someone that he may have perceived to be rich and famous. The presiding judge later sided with DeMentri’s attorneys and dismissed the charges against him.
It should also be noted that an eyewitness on the scene stated that they did not see DeMentri slap the chauffer and that the vehicle’s window was barely open at that time.
Within about three days following the alleged attack, the TV reporter became unemployed as his employer at that time, WPIX, chose to terminate their relationship with DeMentri; sources told a N York Criminal Attorney. However, this is not the first time that the self-described, “bad-boy” has been dismissed from a position. you would be wise to have local lawyer in Staten Island or Long Island if these same crimes were charged there.
New York Criminal Lawyer went on to learn that Vince DeMentri used to work at Philadelphia’s WCAU-TV as their news anchor. His legal entanglements in this incident stemmed from his alleged personal involvement with his female co-anchor. The resulting gender-bias complaint that was lodged against him resulted in his dismissal by the TV station. He has since griped that he was the one who lost his job while the female anchor remained in her position.
Immediately following the verdict, DeMentri exclaimed that he was the victim and not the bad guy in this. He went on to add that he is looking for work, presumably as a TV reporter.

Music Teacher in Addison County Arrested on Child Pornography Charges

An Addison County music teacher was arrested on federal child-pornography charges. The teacher told officials about the case to warn them in an effort to calm fears about the seriousness of the claims.
A Manhattan Criminal Lawyer revealed that there was no evidence that linked the teacher’s crimes to any of the local school children.
Classes at Bristol Elementary School and Robinson Elementary School in Starksboro, where the defendant divides his full-time job, were cancelled for the day, said a Manhattan Criminal Lawyer, but those in charge began to worry about how to tell the community of the issue and were extremely concerned what local parents and even children would have.
There was a letter meant to be sent home parents. "At this point in the investigation there is no evidence that supports that any of the children in our community were involved in any way," were the words used in the letter, signed by both the school principals. "You are your child's best mentor and guide through this difficult time. You must be the one to decide, if, how and when to discuss this with your child."
The school officials made a promise to parents and those in the community that they would keep everyone up to date on any additional information that arise involving the investigation.
The Superintendent was unsure how people would adjust to the news and didn’t know off hand if there would be a special school board meeting in either district; there is not one scheduled until April at the earliest.
The defendant turned himself in Thursday morning to the FBI, according to reports on Monday. The prosecutor in charge of the criminal case called on Wednesday and said his client either could be apprehended that night, or he could turn himself in at 9 a.m. Thursday.
Prosecutors sought to have the accused teacher jailed as a danger to the community and as a risk to leave town. He has restrictions placed on his computer use until his trial for various sex crimes.
