Vehicular Manslaughter is charged after a car crash reports a Suffolk Criminal Lawyer

A Suffolk County Court Judge received a guilty plea from a Smithtown man on a14-count indictment, one of which was aggravated vehicular manslaughter. A mother of two children under the age of nine, also from Smithtown, was killed by the man who was driving while intoxicated. The man had consumed five or six vodka drinks at two bars, after having taken Xanax earlier that day. He was northbound on Route 25A in his Chevy Silverado pickup truck when he crossed over the center line into the path of the young mother. The two vehicles hit head on. The driver of the truck admitted his negligence caused the accident, so statements from possible witnesses will most likely be unnecessary. The man is out on bond until his sentencing on June 9. The judge promised the man, in exchange for his plea, to a prison term of no more than 5 to 15 years. According to a Suffolk County Criminal Lawyer, the maximum sentence if he had received a trial conviction would have been 8 1/3 to 25 years. This was not his first time facing DWI charges, as he had been previously convicted of driving while impaired in 1988 and in 1999. He has remained sober since the accident, however. The children of the crash victim are the ones that quite possibly have been most affected by this incident, says a Suffolk County Criminal Lawyer, and will require the support of the family. It was not reported if the children’s father is going to be assuming responsibility for them, or if the victim’s family will have to step in.

A New York Criminal Lawyer is a must if you are facing criminal prosecution. You should not be without representation and risk an arrest and conviction which will ruin your life. A Jury trial is something which give you a chance to clear your name and go free. You will have a much better chance of this happening if you have the proper legal advice and expertise in your corner.

Mother Over-Doses 8-Year-Old With Ground-Up Prescription Medication States a Suffolk County Criminal Lawyer

A deranged woman, a distraught father and ex-husband and an extremely confused grandmother all try to make out the details behind the supposed murder of an eight-year-old boy. They could use a Suffolk County Criminal Lawyer. The father, who lives across the country, said he thought that the grandmother of the child had identified the little boys body. However, he learned after 48 hours that the little boy’s body remained in the medical examiner’s office without a proper identification. The mother is suspected of the crime in which the child was apparently fed ground up prescription medication.

The mother, who is now in a psyche ward, had emailed a relative indicating that there was a problem. The police burst into the home only to find an incoherent mother babbling. And, the mother also left a suicide note suggesting that more information could be found on the computer. Obviously the crime lab has the computer and will be examining it for further information. Drug Possession was not an issue here.

The Law Firm of Steven Bilkis and Associates with its Suffolk County Criminal Lawyer could help a young father determine what and why his ex-wife would commit such a horrible crime. The autopsy was inconclusive and the child’s father who was distraught said the woman was a good mother and he couldn’t imagine why she would do such a thing. The father was also decidedly upset that his son was left unidentified when obviously relatives much closer to the family could have made the identification. He was planning to make the trek across the country to identify the little boy and hopefully gets some answers while planning a burial.

In a high district hotel in Australia, a man decided that the chambermaid was not just there for the cleaning of his high priced room. Matthew Moorhouse, 42, whose family says he was raised in the Outback but that this behavior isn’t what they would expect to hear about him.

Apparently, while cleaning his room he tried to make small talk by asking the victim if she had a boyfriend. She indicated that she did not but became suspicious and asked him why he was asking her such questions. At that point, he became a bit more forward asking her if she thought he was handsome. He decided he would give her a hug and instead pushed her down on the bed.

She was screaming when another employee of the hotel heard the screams and knocked on the door. The maid screamed at her co-worker to come inside. Moorhouse let the maid go and she alerted security. Moorhouse remains locked up, charged with attempted rape, sexual abuse, and unlawful imprisonment. His bail set at $20,000.
