Massachusetts Road Rage Case Sentenced

A 23-year-old medical receptionist was placed on probation for two and a half years after she was found guilty of driving to endanger and of six counts of assault by means of a dangerous weapon. Her drunken driving charge was continued without finding for two years probation. She must also participate in a first-offenders alcohol driver education program, and was ordered to refrain from drinking alcohol, said a New York Criminal Lawyer.

Leading up to her arrest, the 23-year-old left a Providence RI nightclub after having an argument with someone. She then drove drunk from Providence to Massachusetts on Interstate 95, and had a collision with a car containing six occupants on I-495. She also nearly forced a state trooper off the road, states a New York City Criminal Lawyer.

The other driver at the Providence nightclub supposedly sparked the incident, leading to the chase. However, the medical receptionist accepted responsibility for her actions. The accident took place around 3 a.m. when she repeatedly crashed into the rear of the victim’s car as it drove down the highway. A State Trooper had to take evasive action to avoid a collision as he pursued them down I-495.

She had only had one other minor brush with the law prior to her July 25th arrest. The 23-year-old now suffers from nightmares and a knee injury after the accident. Prosecutors stated that she deserved the guilty ruling because she was acting “out of control” and they thought she should be reprimanded.

Maryland Man Sent to Prison for DUI and Car Chase

An Upper Marlboro, Maryland, man will spend the next three and one half years in prison after pleading guilty this past January to misdemeanor DUI, and two felony charges of attempting to injure a police officer and eluding unlawfully, a New York Criminal Lawyer explained.
The incident occurred August 7, 2010, when a Culpeper County Sheriff’s Deputy pulled the 35-year old man over on Route 3 near Mount Pony for going 74 in a 55-mph zone. Sources further told a NY Criminal Attorney that as the deputy approached the vehicle, the driver nearly struck the deputy after throwing his vehicle into reverse. With deputies in pursuit at more than 100-miles per hour, the driver stuck another vehicle that was driven by a 22-year old mother who also had her 1-year old son in the vehicle. Following a brief struggle, deputies took the man into custody, and during their investigation deputies learned, the man’s blood alcohol concentration (BAC) was 0.18, which is more than twice the legal BAC limit in Maryland of 0.08. He was charged with DWI.
Although three other charges against the man were later indefinitely suspended, prosecutors in this case said that the sentence the court imposed sent a clear message to anyone who chooses to take their vehicle and use it as a weapon in an attempt to elude law enforcement officers. He went on to add, “Innocent users of the highway deserve to be protected from this type of conduct.”
Other sources have indicated that as bad as this incident was that it could have been much worse. Anytime that someone takes a 2,000-pound vehicle and directs it at another individual there is not much that the people can do to defend themselves. The direct attack in this case on a police officer, and the resulting crash into another vehicle that contained a woman and her small child represents a total disregard by this individual for anyone other than himself. Although the convicted man has been ordered to pay restitution to the woman for the damages that he caused, it is unlikely that she will forget the incident anytime soon.

Woman embezzles $34 million over 11 years

Major corporations cycle billions of dollars in and out of their networks each year, recounts a New York Criminal Lawyer. They hire accountants, financial advisers and auditors to balance their finances and crunch the numbers. When one of those trusted auditors or advisers is not as forthcoming as the corporation expects, the losses could be substantial.

Embezzlement happens with apparent ease, according to a woman who was stealing from her employer for 11 years, racking up a whopping $34 million dollar tally on expensive clothing, shoes, home repairs and even a new Mercedes. As reported by the N York Criminal Lawyer, no one ever noticed that the money was missing, except for the assistant to the woman who was doing the stealing.

Apparently, that woman felt intimidated by her superior and did what she was told, never questioning the reasons why she was being given personal credit card bills to pay out of company money. The perpetrator who was pocketing the money claims that the first time she ever took money from the company, it was out of desperation to pay her bills, and that she had every intention of returning the money when she got back on her feet.

The New York City Criminal Lawyer noted that repayment never occurred. Instead, the woman realized how easy it was to do and she continued to take money, first for smaller things, and later, for luxurious items, vacations and home renovations. After the owner of the company was alerted to fraudulent activity by a credit card company, the picture became clearer as to just how much she had stolen over the years. The woman admits that she thought she was going to be caught from the very beginning and she was surprised that it had taken so long for the owner of the company to catch on.

Business owners, beware! Not every employee is as trusting as you would want to believe.

Former Political Head With DUI

He was the former head of the Grand Old Party, the GOP, the Republicans of the great state of Indiana, says a New York Criminal Defense Lawyer. Nothing happened in the state that he didn't know about, at least not politically, and for nearly four years, between 2002 and 2006 he was the King Maker in the state of Indiana. Noted a NY Criminal Lawyer, who asked not to be named, "when he wasn't pulling the strings of the political machine, he ran the family business." But, not just any family business, but a family business of retail furniture stores. Twelve retail furniture stores in all, located all over Indiana and Indiana's next door neighbor, Ohio, reports a New York Criminal Defense Lawyer

And now all of that is nothing more than a backstory as he has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol. It was nearly eleven o clock in at night when he was pulled over, notes a New York Criminal Defense Lawyer, and the police followed standard protocol: they gave him the breathalyzer and told him to take the field sobriety test. He failed both. He was arrested for DWI and will stand before a judge soon to answer for his alleged crime against the people of Indiana, says a NYC Criminal Lawyer. Jail time is a possibility.

Earlier this month, the man had stepped down from his post as head of the regional furniture giant. Perhaps he spent the rest of the month drinking.

Denny Hecker pulls another outrageous stunt, New York Criminal Lawyers Report

Bankrupt former auto tycoon Denny Hecker, who is $767 million in debt, recently admitted to impersonating a former business friend while he placed a bid on his own 2006 Harley Davidson at his bankruptcy auction in May of this year, according to New York Criminal Lawyers. “It's good to know that when push comes to shove, bankrupt auto failure Denny Hecker has a firm grasp on what's really important in life. Like his Harley Davidson.” said writer Hart Van Denburg, in a recent news blog.

Other items available at the auction included several of his speedboats, snowmobiles and his Cadillac Escalade golf cart. According to New York Criminal Lawyers, Hecker’s checks for the auction items he tried to buy back just bounced.

The Radde of Radde & Sons Auction House in New Germany estimates Hecker’s assets have raised a little less a million dollars in its five auctions. New York Criminal Lawyers, however project that auctions and sales of Hecker's assets have brought in about $2.5 million.

Hecker’s watches alone have earned nearly $300,000 one of which is a diamond-infested Rolex worth more than $24,000. With all of these earnings experts project Hecker wouldn’t even make a dent in his current debt amount of $767 million.

Hecker, who currently resides in Sherburne County Jail, is facing charges of federal fraud and conspiracy charges and is due to be sentenced early next year, according to New York Criminal Lawyers. It has been predicted Hecker will spend time in federal prison not long after the sentencing.

No matter how famous you are, being charged for a crime is straining on your life and New York Criminal Attorneys can help. For the best defense and attention to detail in your case there is nobody better than New York Criminal Attorneys.

The Effects and Safety of Kombucha

Kombucha is a powerfully stimulating fermented tea that has been taken as a healing elixir for thousands of years. Its medicinal benefits are well known and well documented, though it has recently come under scrutiny with the FDA and other agencies, reports a New York Criminal Lawyer. Kombucha has antibiotic and antioxidant properties, and has even been shown to have anticancer effects. So why is something that is supposedly this good for you being held under the watchful eye of government officials?

The New York Criminal Lawyer reports that Kombucha has been shown to have a high enough alcohol content, in some instances, to rival that of beer. The fermented tea is sold commercially, but a growing number of people are choosing to brew this bubbly beverage at home. It has been found that some of the commercial varieties of Kombucha can continue producing alcohol after being bottled, says the New York Criminal Lawyer, meaning that by the time it reaches the mouths of the consumer, which could be anyone, it not only has healing effects, but also stimulation of a more intoxicating kind, however slight it may be.

There are those who claim that Kombucha has an almost addictive affect on people who drink it regularly. Some people have even used Kombucha to wean themselves off of alcohol. Still, is this such a bad thing? Is the percentage of alcohol in this ancient brew too much for the underage consumer to have access to? Further investigation will be reveal the answers. But for now, health conscious consumers who drink commercially bottled Kombucha might be seeing less and less of it on store shelves as store owners choose to bow out of the drama.

Son of Maddof Hangs Himself

A sad story just got sadder, as the son of billionaire Bernie Madoff has been found hanged to death in his New York City apartment, reports a New York Criminal Lawyer. Police suspect that the death is a suicide related to the infamous father's theft of billions of dollars from some of the most powerful people in the United States of America. A lawyer for the deceased man said that the entire ordeal was the result of continuously mounting pressures associated with the entire scandal. It was said that the son felt immense guilt and pressure to fix things, even though there was no apparent direct connection between him and the entire scandal, notes a New York Criminal Lawyer.

The man used the leash he'd used so often to walk his dog to hang himself in his New York apartment. Saddest of all was the fact that the man's two year old son was sleeping in the next room over. Sleeping soundly as his father decided to plan his own exit from this mortal coil, reports a New York Criminal Lawyer.

The man also sent several E-Mails to his wife, basically telling her he is sorry for everything that happened and that he never meant to harm her of the child. He begged her to check on their child and to take care of him. Sources close to the deceased say that his behavior in the past few weeks had grown more and more erratic and that they were worried he might do something harmful, said a New York Criminal Lawyer.

CIA Tape Destroyers Not to be Prosecuted

The tapes may have shown acts of violence not normally imagined carried out by people in the name of the United States of America, said a New York Criminal Lawyer. They could have shown torture - violent, disturbing beatings and near drowning episodes. At the height of the Iraq War, the controversy over whether torture was being used by United States operatives became front page news. And then there was news that some of the interrogations had been video taped, reports a New York Criminal Lawyer. It was thought to be a smoking gun - the absolute proof that torture was being carried out against international law protocols.

For three years, three long years, federal authorities investigated night and day to determine exactly what happened. The tapes were thought to be key, said a New York Criminal Lawyer. And then they were destroyed. Gone forever. Their contents just a whisper in the wind. Attorneys for the United States of America then had to determine whether or not they should prosecute those who destroyed the tapes, said a New York Criminal Lawyer. Of key importance was the fact that apparently those that acted did so on the advice of counsel. Attorneys believed the men who said they believed their actions were not unlawful, reports a New York Criminal Lawyer. Emails released via a Freedom of Information Act request revealed that the men who destroyed the tapes knew they would be in trouble but that they believed if the tapes ever got out that far more trouble would occur.

Having intelligent counsel can often mean the difference between jail and freedom. If you've been charged with a crime contact a New York Criminal Attorney today.

Death Row Inmate Finally Executed

It had been more than 20 years since he'd brutally slain his victim and while the old adage that justice delayed is justice denied may often prove true at least in this case justice has finally been doled out. The appeals process in a death penalty case can often be a long, arduous, and trying affair for all involved, notes a New York Criminal Lawyer. The families of both the victim and killer are often required to go through rigorous investigatory processes. They can be subjected to intense questioning both in and out of the court room, said a New York Criminal Lawyer.

In this case, the delay was unique in that the killer's appeal made its way to the United States of America's Supreme Court. The high court of the land heard arguments from both sides about whether the origin of one of the drugs used in executing the killer needed to be disclosed, reports a New York Criminal Lawyer. Newly appointed Justice Elena Kagan made one of her first rulings as a Supreme Court Justice, voting with the minority of justices in believing that the prosecutors needed to disclose from which country the drug had originated. She was on the wrong side on this day though as the Court voted 5-4 in permitting the execution to proceed. The court sounded quite annoyed that the appeal had ever made it this far, said a New York Criminal Lawyer. The company that makes the drug in question had temporarily suspended production of the drug, leading officials to seek supplies from a company outside the United States. Defense attorneys argued that this could constitute cruel and unusual punishment and would thus violated the US Constitution.

Being charged with a criminal offense is often a damaging occurrence. It can permanently ruin one's reputation and life. If you find yourself charged with a crime immediately contact a New York Criminal Attorney.

Corporate Crime on the Rise

An FBI official has reported to the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee about the “massive” frauds the law enforcement agency has uncovered while attempting to combat financial crimes, sources tell a New York Criminal Lawyer.
An assistant director told the committee “the FBI has continued to uncover massive frauds, including newly identified Ponzi schemes.” He also told New York Criminal Lawyers that new fraud cases had increased by 111 percent and high-yield securities frauds have rise by more than 200 percent.
New York Criminal Lawyers have learned of a number of major fraud cases, this year alone. In June, a $1.9 billion fraud caused the sixth-largest bank failure in the country. In July, a managing partner at a major firm pleaded guilty to taking part in a $700 million scheme that took money from charities, university foundations, pensions, and retirement plans. In September, the owner of an investment firm pleaded guilty to a $880 million Ponzi scheme involving his own firm.
“In the last three years alone, the FBI has seen the number of mortgage fraud cases steadily climb from 1,200 in 2007 to over 3,00 in 2010,” said the FBI assistant director. “Nearly 70 percent of these pending cases represent losses to financial institutions and other victims exceeding $1 million. In many of these cases, the loss far exceeds $1 million.”
This new surge of activity to take down mortgage fraud schemes across the country is called Operation Stolen Dreams, and is an initiative organized by President Obama’s interagency Financial Fraud Enforcement Task Force.

Lower Alcohol Limit Causes Controversy

A police chief in Texas is taking a harder line on DWI, sources tell a New York Criminal Lawyer.
The police chief’s proposal would lower the blood alcohol limit from 0.08 to between 0.05 and 0.07, which means it would be a great deal easier to get arrested for DWI. The charge would not be as great, but bars, of course, still think it’s a fairly terrible idea.
“Pretty soon, you won’t be able to get wine in church,” a bartender told a New York Criminal Lawyer. “You won’t be able to have communion anymore. Even Jesus won’t be able to drink wine.”
“I’ll bet you anything that 75 percent of those congressmen driving down here couldn’t pass that law, so they won’t pass it,” a construction worker patronizing a Texas bar said to a New York Criminal Lawyer. “I used to work at a bar in West Texas. And every day, the DA would come in there and have four or five double scotch and waters and drive home.”
Even if the limit is lowered, there are still other places that have it worse. For instance, Switzerland has a DWI limit of 0.05. Norway has zero tolerance. “So everybody takes a cap,” a Swiss man told a Bronx Criminal Lawyer. “Actually, when my Norwegian friends come here, they don’t rent cars anymore. They do everything by cab.” The tram runs until 4 in the morning on weekends in Norway.

Texting a Focus in Arrests of Protesters

Demonstrations have changed with the advent of text messages and social networking and law enforcement has changed to match it, a New York Criminal Lawyer reports. FBI agents raided a house in Jackson Heights, Queens, and searched it for 16 hours. New York Criminal Lawyers believe the reason for the search was suspicion that the man who lived there had helped to coordinate protesters at the Group of 20 summit in Pittsburgh.
The owner of the house, a 41-year-old social worker who was also a self-described anarchist, had already been arrested in Pittsburgh and charged with hindering apprehension or prosecution, criminal use of a communication facility and possession of instruments of crime. Pennsylvania State Police told a Bronx Criminal Lawyer that the social worker was found in a hotel room with computers and police scanners. He was using social networking sites to tell protesters where the police would be. The social worker has denied he did anything wrong.
The criminal complaint in Pennsylvania accuses him of “directing others, specifically protesters of the G-20 summit, in order to avoid apprehension after a lawful order to disperse.”
“He and a friend were part of a communications network among people protesting the G-20,” the social worker’s attorney told a New York Criminal Lawyer. “There’s absolutely nothing that he’s done that should subject him to any criminal liability.”
After the raid, no further charges have been filed against the social worker. Due to the actions of the social worker’s attorney, a judge ordered the authorities to stop examining the seized materials until further notice.

Japan Turns Away Paris Hilton for Drug Conviction

Paris Hilton is apparently not welcome in the Land of the Rising Sun. She was turned away when she attempted to visit Japan because of her recent conviction for cocaine possession and had to fly back to the United States, New York Criminal Lawyers have learned.
“Paris is very disappointed and fought hard to keep her business commitments and see her fans, but she is forced to postpone her commitments in Asia,” her representative said to a Bronx Criminal Lawyer. “Paris understands and respects the rules and laws of the immigration authorities in Japan and fully wishes to cooperate with them. Paris looks forward to returning in the future to a country she loves and has been coming to for the past 10 years.”
Hilton had been detained and questioned by immigration officials for hours when she tried to enter Japan. She recently pleaded guilty to misdemeanor cocaine possession and obstructing a police officer. A motorcycle cop caught her and her boyfriend in Los Vegas when the officer smelled marijuana coming from the car. Hilton was found to be carrying cocaine at that point, as well.

Jets Wide Receiver Braylon Edwards Arrested for DUI

Jets wide receiver Braylon Edwards was caught driving under the influence when he was pulled over by police on the Westside. He had double the legal limit of alcohol in his system, authorities told a New York Criminal Lawyer.
The 27-year-old pro football player was arrested early in the morning and charged with DWI, after being pulled over because his Range Rover had overly-tinted windows. Police told a New York Criminal Lawyer they smelled alcohol and gave Edwards a Breathalyzer test. He registered 0.16, which is twice the state’s legal limit of 0.08. He also failed a sobriety test at the scene.
“I had a couple of drinks,” he told the police, according to a report by New York Criminal Lawyers. There were four other passengers, two of them also football players. None of them were charged with any crimes. Edwards was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated and operating a vehicle while impaired.
“After talking it over with [officials] and with league people, clearly (Edwards’) actions are a violation of the league substance abuse policy and that has to run its course before they can discipline him,” said the Jets general manager. “We made the decision that he won’t start against Miami. He’ll be active, but he won’t start. Then we have to let the league punishment run its course.”

Officers Shoot Knife-Wielding Man To Death

A man carrying a knife in Upper Manhattan was shot and killed by police after ignoring repeated demands to drop the weapon, sources told a New York Criminal Lawyer. He was even tasered to no effect.
The 24-year-old man pulled the Taser’s electric probes from his body, and two officers shot him nine times, police sources told a New York Criminal Lawyer. The man was pronounced dead at New York-Presbyterian/Allen hospital.
Police released a recording and transcript the night after the shooting took place of a 911 call in which the knife-wielding man threatened to kill police officers. When the 911 operator asked the man what his emergency was, he replied, “I want you to call the cops because I’m ready to kill.” “What?” replied the operator. The man continued. “I’m ready to kill some cops right now.”
He gave his address and then said, “I’ll be right here,” according to the transcript. Uniformed patrol officers responded to the call and found the man holding a black knife. He was told to drop it, but would not. A police sergeant fired the Taser, but the man kept advancing on the four officers who surrounded him, police sources told a New York Criminal Lawyer.
Two of the officers shot at the man nine times, striking him multiple times in the chest. A spokesman for the family told a New York Criminal Lawyer, “The family is very distraught. The mother saw her son being shot from her fourth-floor window. We know he does not have a pristine past. But we believe the police could have handled it differently.”

Murder Victim's voice heard in court

During a recent trial for the murder of a young single mother, the woman's taped phone calls were played as evidence to convict her ex-boyfriend, reports a New York Criminal Lawyer.

The woman was in a rocky relationship with the defendant, who is accused of having torture the woman to death. The phone calls ranged from playful and perhaps even at times loving, to harsh and angry. Some of the calls verged on violent. According to a New York Criminal Lawyer, the defendant's lawyer said that evidence of a difficult relationship is not evidence of murder.

Unfortunately for the defendant, the tapes do have various threats on them, and while some do not have outright threats from the defendant, they do show that the victim feared for her life and was unsure of what he ex was going to do. One tape even has her saying that their relationship may be the end of her.

A New York Criminal Lawyer says that the defendant buried his face in his hands as the tape was played at his trial. It is not known as of yet whether the jury will believe the tapes are enough evidence that the defendant committed the murder.

If you have been charged with any criminal offense, the best option available to you would be to enlist the services of a New York Criminal Attorney. Criminal charges are difficult to overcome, and only an experienced New York Criminal Attorney can give you the most positive outcome.

A woman was attacked by a pair of thugs in Carroll Gardens, polices sources told a New York Criminal Lawyer.
The two assailants, aged 20 and 26 years, were at Smith and Ninth streets when the 20-year-old suspect tossed some sort of liquid on a woman walking to the elevated station, police sources told a New York Criminal Lawyer.
The victim, a 43-year-old woman, confronted her 20-year-old assailant, who then punched the victim in the mouth as the 26-year-old choked her, authorities told a New York Criminal Lawyer.

Crossdresser Steals from Restaurant

New York Criminal Lawyers are investigating a case in which a cross-dressing male prostitute stole $4,500 from a West Village eatery. The establishment is known for hosting a number of celebrities, according to police.
The 18-year-old prostitute, dressed in skirt and blouse, strolled into a Bank Street eatery, near Greenwich Street at 9:40 p.m. on June 2 and asked to use the restroom, sources told a New York Criminal Lawyer. The suspect then went to the manager’s office instead. The 18-year-old man, who has a long rap sheet which includes a number of arrests for prostitution, took an envelope full of cash from the manager’s office and fled the scene, sources said.
The co-owner and manager of the establishment did not learn that the money was missing until the end of the night, said a New York Criminal Lawyer. There was surveillance video available that displayed what had occurred and the footage was turned over to the police, who subsequently arrested the suspect. Date Rape is a very common crime

Rape is defined as the sexual intercourse with another, without the victim’s consent. Date rape is a variation of this, where the defendant and the victim know each other. In rape cases, Date Rape is more common that you might think, it is reported that 70-80% of rape victims knew their offender. The accusation of rape is a serious matter, even if it is not true. It can damage the defendant’s reputation for years to come. A criminal conviction of rape can result in prison, fines, rehabilitation and possibly registering as a sex offender with the State of New York.

Date Rape is defined by the Rape statutes of the New York Penal Law, under sections 130.25, 130.30 and 130.35, depending on the degree committed. 1st degree Rape is defined as intercourse with another person, either by forcible compulsion, or if the victim cannot give consent (due to being physically helpless), or with a person that is under the age of 11 yrs. This crime is categorized as a Class B felony. 2nd degree Rape occurs when an individual over the age of 18 yrs. has sexual intercourse with someone 15yrs. old or younger, or has sex with an individual incapable of giving consent because of mental incapacity. This is a Class D felony. 3d degree Rape occurs when individual has sex with an individual that cannot give consent for another reason than being 17 years old or younger, or being over 21yrs. and having sex with someone younger than 17 yrs. or having sex without consent because the lack of consent is due to another factor other than incapacity. This is categorized as a Class E felony.

The crime of Date Rape can be complex given the pre-existing relationship of the parties. Consent can become a grey area in these types of cases, particularly if there was a pre-existing relationship between the parties. Often poor communication, misunderstood signals and even diminished capacity due to drugs or alcohol may be a factor. In fact Date Rape has received more media attention in the recent past due to the use of what has been called Date Rape drugs, Rohyponol and GHB. It is reported that nearly 1/3 of Date Rape cases involve drugs and/or alcohol. The District Attorney will try to convince the court that all the elements of Rape are present, beyond a reasonable doubt. It will be the job of your Bronx Criminal Lawyer to prove otherwise, and create reasonable doubt in the eyes of the court.

Man Warns Woman of Impending Death Via Text Message Says a Bronx Criminal Lawyer

Text messaging has quickly become one of the largest forms of communication in recent years. And, one Brooklyn man, enraged over his girlfriend’s actions sent her a text message telling her that he was going to kill her. It seems she left a party that the two were attending and didn’t bother telling him. And, so he sent her message threatening her life. A Bronx Criminal Lawyer may be called in to help iron out the details of the situation.

The victim is a 25-year-old mother of two. She was found beaten and strangled not long after her married lover followed her home. The babysitter, the mother of the victim, said he knocked on the door and she opened it. She noted that at the time, nothing seemed wrong so she allowed the man to come inside just before 2:00 AM. Once she started hearing noises, she begged a neighbor to call 911.

The victim’s mother said she went into the room after the man calmly walked away from the apartment with blood on his mouth after biting the woman. A Bronx Criminal Lawyer says the suspect is married to a woman who lives two floors above the victim and her family and was snorting cocaine and discussing the murder with relatives afterwards. One of his cousins’s asked him why he would do such a thing and his answer was a pathetic “she should have never left” (the party).

The victim’s mother said the suspect had stuffed the victim under her own bed. Half of her body was sticking out and her mother was obviously upset. Once the police arrived, the suspect was arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He didn’t even try to flee once the authorities arrived. Investigators were looking for the victims phone, as it seems he had sent the text message threatening her shortly before showing up at her home. A New York Criminal Lawyer suspects like this who have prior arrests for assault, menacing and harassment and many times the crimes just continue to increase in intensity just as this one did.

Hate Killing of Immigrant May Render a Plea Bargain Reports a Bronx Criminal Lawyer

An Ecuador-ean immigrant in Patchogue died at the hands of two suspects. One of the suspects is only eighteen and may take a plea while the other suspect is nineteen was due in court next week. The District Attorney said that both cases were moved up but would not comment further. A Bronx Criminal Lawyer may have more information on the case soon.

These two teens, and five others, are charged with first-degree gang assault and fourth degree conspiracy in relation to the killing of the man. The teens also face charges for other crimes in which they are suspects.

The attorney of the eighteen year old said he might plead guilty depending on the outcome of a meeting with the judge in his chambers. The lawyer for the nineteen-year-old said that his client has no intention of taking a plea. A Bronx Criminal Lawyer reports that the district attorney’s position hasn’t changed in this case.

Apparently the lawyer for the nineteen-year-old was awaiting the decision from the judge on various motions including whether a statement made to police is admissible and another motion to suppress evidence and dismiss some of the charges. The judge has yet to rule on motions made by the defense and jury selection should occur soon.

A New York Criminal Lawyer says that another teen is the only one charged with second-degree murder and first-degree manslaughter and that both are dubbed hate crimes. Authorities indicate that this teen fatally stabbed the immigrant. All of the teens gave statements to police just hours after the killing and admitted being involved in the crime. The judge has already ruled that two of the statements can be used in the trial. For now, no deals are on the table and the defendants hope to get one trial.
