Mouthy children get shot and killed by their mother

A 16 year old girl and a 13 year old boy are shot and killed after talking back to their 50 year old new mom, as reported by a New York Criminal Lawyer. The mom didn’t deny the shooting and killing of these two children.

The mom was already confronted once by police a few months earlier when they went to her residence for an abuse call. The mom would slap her children in the face for talking back. The police couldn’t really do anything at that time for lack of evidence. A police spokeswoman said that this seemed like a normal incident of high tension between a frustrated mom and teenage children. The police didn’t think this woman would eventually shoot her children.

The daughter had been going to a school counselor because of her own lashing out at her mom. She regretted how bad she had talked to and treated her mother. The counselor did say that she was told the mom would sometimes slap the children in the face for talking back. This really frustrated the teen girl who was used to being grounded for discipline and not hit. The counselor told the teen that a mother should not be slapping anybody in the face.

The hitting did continue to get worse. One time the mom hit the girl in the face for about 30 seconds on the way home. Once home she tried to continue hitting her but the teen caught her mom’s hand, stopped the hitting and decided to stand up to her mother instead of allowing her to keep physically abusing her.

The mom is a step-mom and not the birth mom. The children would often tell the mom that she was not their mom and this lead to more hitting and helped increase the frustration felt from the mom and the children.

After shooting her children, this 50 year old Tampa lady is being held without bond until her trial. The trial date has not been set and she is being help in a Florida State Correctional Facility.

Whether you have been charged with domestic violence, a drug crime, or a theft crime, don’t ever go to trial without the help of qualified legal counsel. Even if it looks hopeless and you are facing serious charges, don’t give up.

The Lohan Family Crime Spree Continues in Tinsel Town

Lindsay Lohan's father, Michael Lohan, was apprehended and charged with 3 felony counts. Lohan was arrested at his West Hollywood home on suspicion of three different counts of domestic violence against a female living with him, according to authorities.

The arrest occurred during the same stretch of days in which his famous daughter, former child actress Lindsay was putting to rest a plea deal for her recent legal imbroglio the media has been calling "necklacegate."

Michael Lohan had been living with his lover, Kate Major, for the past few years. While out walking in his West Hollywood neighborhood, Lohan was en route past the sheriff's station when he was arrested.

Major alleged that Lohan had held her hostage, harming her physically, causing minor injuries, and prevented her from calling 911. The extent and nature of these injuries were not known at this time.

At the time of his arrest Lohan was charged with bodily harm to a cohabitant, hostage taking, and obstructing the filing of a victimization report, authorities explained to a New York Criminal Lawyer.

During his stay in lockup, Michael Lohan claimed to be suffering from an undisclosed medical condition for which he needed immediate treatment. Authorities transferred him immediately to a local hospital, while being held on $ 200,000.00 bail, according to a Long Island Criminal Lawyer.

It remains unconfirmed whether Lohan has posted bail. In a bizarre twist, his victim, Kate Major, said she has no idea where he is.

"I have no idea where he is, but I pressed charges because he tried to kill me!" said Major in her televised interview. Sources indicate that the domestic violence dispute was triggered by Lohan's insistence that Kate Major be interviewed with him on the show "Celebrity Rehab." During the time Major was in LA, Lohan was angry because he couldn't access funds he was owed, not being able to cash a check. Major told a friend she was fearful he would take his anger out on her.

Major was quoted by her friend as saying "...he has that look in his eye."

Man Arrested in Child Abduction Case

A man who was wanted in connection for abducting his son was arrested in February by agents of the U.S. Marshalls Service, sources told a reporter. The man is waiting to stand trial on charges of interference with child custody and contempt of court. The contempt of court charge is reported to be a violation of probation that was part of a previous charge of domestic violence.

The incident began innocently enough in October 2010 when the 46-year old man picked up his son at his ex-wife’s residence. The former couple shared custody of their son, and this was a part of the scheduled weekend visitation that was included in their divorce settlement, sources informed a friend.

Based on the police reports, it appears that things went wrong just before the man was to return his son to his mother. He had just discovered that a civil warrant had been issued for his arrest for failing to follow the terms of the divorce. It is unknown at this moment what stipulations of the divorce that he violated. Sources further add that when he was en route to returning his son that he observed a deputy in the area near to her home. It is thought that he then panicked and fled with his son. Sources have been unable to confirm or refute whether the deputy was in the area looking for him, or if the deputy was simply on routine patrol.

Before the end of 2010, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children submitted a request to the U.S. Marshalls Service, and specifically the Florida Regional Task Force, for their assistance in locating the missing child. With the vast resources of the United States Government at their disposal, agents of the Marshalls Service conducted an extensive investigation and learned that the boy’s father had taken him throughout the United States in an attempt to elude law enforcement, and keep the child himself. The task force thwarted those efforts by locating him and the boy in Wolverine, Michigan. The boy was safe and unharmed. The same laws apply in New York City and Suffolk County.

Father Defends Living Condition

A father of three children who were removed from his home states that the conditions were all a misunderstanding, according to a reporter.

The 30-year-old man, who recently graduated from nursing school and is now seeking employment has sole custody of his three children, aged 6, 4 and 2 following a divorce from his wife. His ex-wife called police, stating that she received threatening messages from him and that he sounded drunk.

When police arrived to the man's house to investigate, the home was found in disrepair. Authorities describe seeing rotting food, mice and mice feces and pieces of wood with nails scattered around the home. Because of the living conditions, authorities removed the children from the home and placed them with the man's parents. The man was charged with three counts of felony neglect of a dependent and domestic violence, states a court order. He posted a $2,500 bond and was released 23 hours after being charged.

The man explained that he was in the process of replacing the floors in the home and that there was no rotten food in the home. He has cleaned up the debris, which also included numerous whiskey bottles and other trash, and moved it outside until it can be hauled away. He has also filed charges against an officer who reported he was drunk when they arrived, when in fact he had been sleeping. The man will be back in court in March to determine the outcome of the neglect charges. Until then, the children will remain with his parents, explains a family friend.

Man Sues Wife for Wrongful Death of Infant Son

A man is filing a wrongful death suit against his estranged wife claiming she was directly responsible for their son's death, states a report. The man filed the suit in January. The alleged suffocation occurred in June, 2010. The wife has been jailed since being arrested after the incident in December.

The man, who has also filed for divorce from his wife claims that his wife's domestic violence was “intentional.”

The wife is charged with first-degree murder in the suffocation death of their 6-month-old son. Authorities state that the woman admitted to placing a plastic bag over the child's head and then covering him with blankets. The woman has plead not guilty by reason of insanity, and her attorney's claim she was suffering from postpartum depression at the time the incident occurred, offers an explanation. Postpartum depression is a hormonal imbalance which causes a woman who has recently given birth to act irrationally. It occurs when the hormonal levels are attempting to return to the levels prior to pregnancy and birth. In most women, it causes depression and sadness, but the symptoms abate in a few weeks. However, in the most severe cases, a mother has been known to harm of kill their children.

The lawsuit claims that the woman believed the child to be autistic, and feared the child would destroy her both emotionally and financially. The woman worked with autistic children at a local children's hospital for two years, so she was well-versed in the condition, reports a source.

The woman's legal team requested bail, but the request was denied.

Disturbing reports are very common particularly domestic violence issues wherein the victims are the wives and the children.

Because women are suppose to be physically weak there are some men who take advantage of this and physically abuse their partners, wives, daughters and others. Disturbing reports are very common, particularly domestic violence issues where the victims are the wives and the children.

On March 7, 1997, the defendant who is the ex-boyfriend of the victim attacked her in front of her apartment. She and her three daughters where coming home from the supermarket when the defendant attacked from behind. The victim then was wheeling the baby carriage when the attack began and her two older daughters who were 7 and 12 years old were frightened by what they saw and began to cry. The victim’s face smashed against the fence and the baby carriage was knocked over. The defendant was very angry because the victim filed a complaint against him previously and put him in jail apparently because of domestic violence.

The defendant then grabbed the victim by the back and neck and ordered her to open the door knocking her head on the door in the process. The children followed behind, the older children carrying the baby inside. Upon entering the apartment, it is very fortunate that the children know where they will go. They went straight to their bedroom and stayed there while the defendant continuously assaulted the victim. They could hear him verbally abused their mother. The defendant also beat the victim using his hands, feet and a metal pipe. The defendant’s terror lasted 10 hours. The horror that the children experienced while they were trapped inside their bedroom has left them traumatized for a long time. They were afraid for their safety and afraid for their mother’s safety as well. All along the defendant was threatening the victim that he will leave her children motherless because of what she did to him before.

After a long time the victim finally got the chance to sneak out. She ran frantically to the nearest phone and called the police. The police arrested the defendant and filed charges of domestic violence against him. He also endangered the safety of his victim’s children. He also exposed them to the horrors of domestic violence.

The defendant was charged by the court with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and intimidating a victim or a witness according to a Brooklyn Criminal Lawyer. He was also charged with menacing and a number of felonies related to the order of protection.

What the victim and her children experienced is a terrible situation that can haunt them for a very long time. The effect on the children of domestic violence has been documented for over two decade. The effects of such action or experience on them have already been established as very destructive and can affect how they see their life inside their home. The feeling of constant fear hinders their healthy well being.

It is just very fortunate that a New York Criminal Lawyer can understand what it feels like to be in a situation of fear and violence. They understand that in times like these fear is the worst enemy of all. They encourage everyone suffering from domestic violence, abuse or a sex crime to come out and tell their stories.

This Case is all about Domestic Violence

Domestic violence whether we admit it or not has been a problem of society even during the early days. Unfortunately, the ultimate victims of this crime are the children. Often times a third party has to step in because both parents are incapable of recognizing that they are in a very menacing situation. Social Welfare may have to step in when the mental, physical and emotional development of the children are being compromised. A New York Criminal Lawyer can explain that social welfare acts as a government arm that ensures the children are safe and not in any kind of danger.

This case is all about domestic violence. The parents has been identified as people who keep on engaging in domestic violence and neither one has the capacity to get out of the vicious cycle of hurting each other. Friends, relatives, neighbors, police officers and even work colleagues have been asked to testify by the court. This procedure was necessary in order to establish a pattern that the parents have been continuously engaging in domestic violence for over 10 years already.

As a result, their eldest daughter has been diagnosed with enuresis or most commonly known as bedwetting at the age of six. The parents along with the eldest daughter were called in to undergo an evaluation at the a county mental health clinic because of their problem with their eldest. Apparently it was found out that the eldest has been playing “referee” or “peace maker” for her parents who were arguing most of the time. These arguments often end up in physical confrontations.

After several years, the children were then taken to their Aunt on the mother’s side after a significantly violent episode. It was observed that at age 11, the eldest daughter was rebellious and still wetting her bed. Her brother was withdrawn and very indifferent to other people. It was very obvious that the domestic violence issue at their home has created a negative impact on their mental and emotional state. The children were not growing in an ideal environment. Sadly both parents admit that what they are doing to each other has been affecting their kids ever since but they simply couldn’t stop hurting each other.

The case workers, as well as a Bronx Domestic Violence Lawyer who was working in this particular case were really concerned about the children’s wellbeing. That is why they have filed a case against the parents for exposing their children to such violence that hinders their children’s mental and emotional growth. In fact, a clinical psychologist from has testified that what the children have been manifesting is consistent to what he had studied and observed as an expert on children’s behaviour.

When children are involved it is considered as something very serious and alarming. The children are the future of a nation and therefore need to be mentally and emotionally capable to handle a great deal of responsibilities in the future. Domestic violence, a sex crime or any other such crime are considered serious offenses by the law.

There’s nothing sadder than a mother maltreating her own children

There’s nothing sadder than a mother maltreating her own children. This case is about a mother who inspite of having four children already, still didn’t have the maternal instinct to care for her kids. She has two kids from her first partner and twins with a man reported to have been physically and emotionally abusing her.

It was determined by the court and by the Social Welfare Department that the mother has actually sexually abused her eldest son. The court and the Social Welfare Officers are trying to establish if the mother’s behaviour is a result of domestic violence that was brought about by the father of the twins.

The mother has gone through a lot of counselling and therapy. She has also undergone sexual offender therapy because of what she has done to her eldest son. This is very disturbing because this is not a common case. It is not every day that we hear that mothers are involved in sex crimes against their son or daughter. She had actually completed all of the seminars, counselling and therapies except for the sex offender therapy. The reason for this is she refused to admit what she had done.

Despite the domestic violence issue between her and the father of the twins, the true victims in this case are the kids. Her eldest son, because of the sexual abuse has been showing negative behavior that is not normal for a child his age. The mother’s refusal to admit what she has done to him and her failure to recognize the especial needs of her son has created a wide gap between her and her child.

The mother is suffering from a deep behavioral and emotional distress. The Family court has used a lot of approaches to strengthen the ties between the mother and her children, according to a New York Criminal Lawyer. Unfortunately all of their efforts were unsuccessful. The mother still continues to have occasional relationship with the twins’ father despite the domestic violence issue. She also doesn’t have any concrete plans for her children especially about their welfare and wellbeing. She also refused to admit that she has sexually abused her son. Her parenting skills are also in question. Whenever she is permitted to see her children she neglects them and gets easily irritated by their “noise” and activities. She has been reported to show indifferent behaviour to her children during visitations. She often times seen to push the children away and shout at them. She also exhibits negative behavior and says negative things to her children. She even threatens to leave them whenever she feels that their behavior is too much for her to handle.

As a result of her behavior, the children have been placed under foster care. It can’t be told how long the children will be under such care because there are no clear signs that the mother is improving in terms of her emotional and mental state. The mother, however expressed her willingness to let her parents (the grandparents of her children) adopt her eldest son.

This is a true case that has happened in the state of New York. It is a very sad situation. A New York Criminal Lawyer is well prepared to handle cases of domestic violence and other related abuse.

Woman is charged with child neglect after child takes painkillers

A 28-year-old woman was charged after leaving a child unsupervised for 12 hours. She was arrested early Monday morning, a New York Criminal Lawyer was told.

The woman from Pinellas Park, Florida, was watching a young child. She left the child by itself for 12 hours the day before; believes a reporter. It is unclear where the woman went that period of time. The sex of the child has not been confirmed.

When she returned home, she discovered the child unconscious. The child had thrown up several times during the 12 hours, a New York City Criminal Lawyer found in the police report. The woman called 911 while she tried to wake the child up.

Health officials were called to the house to help the child. When the child arrived at the hospital, tests were run. A blood test revealed to authorities that the child had taken oxycodone, a painkiller, while the 28-year-old woman was gone Sunday, indicated a study. Studies in New York and Westchester County concur with these findings.

Oxycodone is a strong painkiller that is used to treat moderate to severe pain. Little is known about the affects the painkillers has on children. It is unclear why the woman had the oxycodone in her home in the first place. Health records for the woman could not be obtained.

The woman is being held on charges of domestic child neglect that cause great bodily harm. The woman was in Pinellas County Jail on Monday. It is unclear where the child’s parents were when the incident occurred.

Violent crimes often begin with too much to drink

Though it is typically touted as a way to relax at a party or calm your nerves after a long day at work, alcohol consumption actually precedes a variety of violent crimes that happen in our society, alleges a New York Criminal Lawyer. Every day people who have short or erratic tempers and emotional issues walk the tightrope when they consume alcohol, and often when they drink they can be easily pushed over the edge, starting unwarranted arguments resulting in violence and often times, injury.

According to studies, alcohol is often a factor in the behavior of people who resort to fighting, assault, rape and spousal abuse. For example, an intoxicated Indiana man was arrested in a Wal-Mart parking lot for beating his wife, who was eight months pregnant at the time. Police reports said that it took several officers to restrain the man and keep him from beating her further. The woman reported that her husband had become angry with her after she had insisted they leave the casino that he had been gambling, and drinking at.

Reports suggest that alcohol not only lowers one’s inhibitions, but it also lowers ones emotional tolerance level, expressed the NY Criminal Lawyer. In other words, it takes much less drama or dissent to make an inebriated person angry and likely to respond harshly. If you or someone you love has an alcohol problem that often leads to anger, violence or rude behavior, get help now. Studies in Queens, New York beat these findings out.

Man Accused of Domestic Violence Killing Estranged Wife Speaks at Child Custody Hearing in Orlando

He is accused of murdering his estranged wife and her boyfriend, the mother of his child, but was asked to give his opinion on where his 13-year-old daughter should live in the aftermath of the tragedy.
The father killed his estranged wife and her boyfriend a few days before the hearing, Orlando police told Manhattan Domestice Violence Law Firms. When the shooting occurred, the girl was in the shower.
The 13-year-old attended the hearing, but never went into the courtroom but Department of Children and Families representatives described her as “very strong” and “articulate”.
As of this writing, the girl will continue to live with her older sister. When it comes to most child custody hearings, the judge asks the parents or parents how they feel about the new living arrangements when it comes to their children.
In this case, the lawyers for both the state and the father were asked for input and both said the home was “stable’.
During questioning from the judge, the suspect began to cry. At one point, his sobbing was so loud, the judge had to pause the hearing. As he was led from the courtroom, the suspect was still weeping.
The girl has stated that she wants to be a police officer when she grows up.
The suspect was order by a judge to remain imprisoned without bond and to avoid seeing his daughter. An arraignment hearing has been set for April 28th.
Whether guilty or innocent, no matter what the crime, everyone has the right to proper defense. Some actions may seem indefensible, but there are still matters that can be considered, no matter how open and shut the case seems. Proper defense is always important, which means nothing less than a top Nassau County Domestic Violence Law Firm.
A criminal trial turns the life of not only the accused upside down, but the lives of friends and family, as well. When the trial is swift, and the defense has a good attorney, it serves the interests of everyone involved.

Woman Could Face Jail Time

A Texas woman is in jail after a bizarre incident which happened in late January. The woman claimed that after her two children helped her with some housecleaning, she decided to reward them (her children are 8 and 9 years old) with a ride on the car; a dangerous ride sitting on the trunk of her car, which the woman claimed her son had been begging for repeatedly for weeks. This case could have legal ramifications far outside of the state of Texas, said a New York Criminal Lawyer.

Responding to the woman’s claims that ride was intended as a reward, one officer involved in the case said, "Those may have been her intentions, but they were bad intentions. It's just dangerous. Having a child riding on a vehicle, it's like playing with a loaded gun. You just don't know what is going to happen.”

The judge seemed to agree with the officer’s sentiment, handing down charges from the bench of two counts of injury to a child- which the law says is a felony in Nassau and Suffolk counties in the third degree.

Compounding the problem, injuries to one of the children seem to suggest that they not only fell off the car, but were also possibly run over as well- a finding which has lead Child Protective Services to open an investigation as well. According to a well known NY Criminal Lawyer, the outcome of the CPS investigation could have a significant impact on the outcome of the criminal trial.

No Arrests yet in “Very Violent” Baby Death

The death of a six-month-old baby girl is described by police as “very violent.” The Ngaruawahia infant died from a traumatic brain injury (TBI), and probably at the hands of another.
The child was admitted to the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) after suffering what police are calling “non-accidental injuries.” She died at Starship Hospital last Thursday after her life support was turned off.
A New York Criminal Attorney contacted a Senior Detective working the case who said the post mortem report showed that the injuries the child received were gruesome. "I would stress at this stage that the post mortem results are only provisional, but they give us some idea as to what sort of injuries she suffered during what was obviously a very violent death."
During her short life, the baby girl had been living with her 21-year-old mother, the mother’s 17-year-old brother, and the mother’s 21-year-old fiancé. Police interviewed the two men right after the baby was taken to the hospital.
A New York Criminal Lawyer reports that no arrests had been made, but Police are still investigating her death and waiting on final test and lab results.
The Senior Detective also said that the investigation was, so far, progressing well, but that they unfortunately still needed more information to conclusively figure out how the child died. "An innocent, 6-month-old baby is dead. She has died at the hands of another, and it is everyone's responsibility to ensure that someone is held accountable for her death."
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), more than 11% of all TBIs are caused by attacks from others.
Even though the human brain can amazingly heal itself by creating new neurological pathways to accomplish lost tasks, some injuries are just too severe for the brain to heal. Such is the case with this child. Immediate care is needed, and when it is prevented, irreversible harm occurs.
TBI is the leading cause of death and disability in children and adults 1-year-old to 44-years-old, and it can occur when blunt force trauma is applied to the head or when something aggressively punctures the skull. It can and does occur in Manhattan and Queens.

Florida Father Charged with Child Abuse after Pushing Infant Son

A man from Pensacola, Florida, is accused of pushing his 4-month-old son. The violence caused the child to suffer a traumatic brain injury (TBI). Bond for the man was set at $150,000.
The 20-year-old father, of the 200 block of Marigold Drive, was charged with three separate counts of aggravated child abuse when he was arrested last week and placed in the Escambia County Jail where he still remains.
The child was brought to a hospital by someone close to him, but the exact details of that are not available at the present time. According to an NYC Criminal Lawyer, the Sacred Heart Hospital contacted the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office when it was suspected that the child’s injuries were non-accidental.
Initially, the baby’s father told deputies investigating the circumstances of the incident that his infant son had regurgitated some food and he then became unresponsive. He later admitted that he had been sitting on the floor holding his son in his lap when his incessant crying frustrated him so much that he “pushed the infant backward causing the infant to hit his head on the floor."
A NYC Criminal Attorney reports that in America, children from every socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, and religious circle suffer from this “hidden epidemic” known as child abuse. The educated as well as the uneducated parents have been known to abuse. In locations like New York City and Westchester County, Domestic Violence like this is treated as a serious crime.
The epidemic is so widespread that every 10 seconds, a report of child abuse is made which equates to more than 3 million child abuse reports annually. This number does not count the mulitple children listed. For example, in 2007 alone, of the more than 3 million reports made, over 5.8 million children were involved. In approximately 10.8% of those cases, physical abuse was alleged or proven. Sadly, almost five children die daily due to child abuse and more than 75% of them are younger than 4 years of age – too young to even begin to defend themselves.
Even though abuse is something no one wants to be a victim of, the cycle is almost impossible to stop. When dealing with abusers, studies have shown that many of them were abused themselves.

Mouthy children get shot and killed by their mother

A 16 year old girl and a 13 year old boy are shot and killed after talking back to their 50 year old new mom. The mom didn’t deny the shooting and killing of these two children.
The mom was already confronted once by police a few months earlier when they went to her residence for an abuse call. A New York Criminal Defender said the mom would slap her children in the face for talking back. The police couldn’t really do anything at that time for lack of evidence. A police spokeswoman said that this seemed like a normal incident of high tension between a frustrated mom and teenage children. The police didn’t think this woman would eventually shoot her children. Domestic Violence is not uncommon in Long Island and Staten Island.
A New York Criminal Defender stated that the mom is a step mom and not the birth mom.

Man Kidnap and Held for Ransom

A middle-aged man was kidnapped for ransom earlier this week. The man was kidnapped and ransom was demanded after the man was taken. The man was taken from his own vehicle by several men.

The 58-year-old man was taken and held in the suspects’ vehicle. He was forced to call his brother and tell his brother to pay the five men ransom in order to secure his release. The man’s brother reported the call to the police who followed up on the report. The police responded by going to the location where the monetary exchange was scheduled to take place, a N York City Lawyer said. All five of the men who had kidnapped the victim were waiting at the location. In Long Island and Staten Island, these crimes are often considered to be domestic violence situations.

Three of the men were immediately arrested upon the police’s arrival. The other two men attempted to escape from police capture; the two men ran away as soon as the police arrived. A New York City Lawyer explains that running from the police does not help one’s case when the case is brought to court.

The police later received information informing them of the location of the two men. One of the fleeing men was caught and arrested along with the three who were already captured; the fifth man entered his vehicle, hit a police car and was shot and killed by the police at the scene.

The man who was kidnapped was found unharmed, although mentally shaken. He was being held in the vehicle used to hit the police car. At least one of the men had a previous criminal record. At this point it was unknown whether the men were going to be prosecuted individually or as a group.

The four surviving suspects are being charged with multiple crimes – including kidnapping, robbery and fleeing. The victim’s brother who reported the call to the police very likely saved the man’s life. It is unknown why this particular man was targeted or how the five men were able to get him from his car. A court date has not been set for this case.

Charges of Domestic Violence Lead to Nicolas Cages’ Arrest

Nicolas Cage was recently arrested on suspected domestic violence and disturbing the peace. The famous movie actor faced charges in New Orleans, reported a Manhattan Criminal Lawyer. The charges stemmed from an incident at a tattoo parlor late Friday evening. The actor and his wife were involved commotion outside the establishment. It is possible that one or both of them were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.

A witness reported that he was aware of the incident, but did not personally see any domestic violence. The tattoo shop where the incident took place did not have any further information about the incident for the public. The shop was avoiding any contact with the media but the shop and its employees were cooperating with police on the matter. In The Bronx and Westchester County, lawyers are asked to defend people accused of domestic violence and must do so with knowledge of the law in those areas.

Other witnesses that spoke to the media said that they felt the incident was not worthy of being headline news. The witnesses felt that while there certainly was a disturbance on Friday evening, the event was more of an argument than an arrest worthy incidence of domestic violence. There were several surveillance tapes from the store and nearby homes which will provide further evidence of the actual events that took place that evening, a Manhattan Criminal Lawyer explained.

Police records show that Nicolas Cage was released on a bond from jail. His court appearance is scheduled for later next month. Because of Nicolas Cage’s celebrity status, the case made national news and will be closely followed when he reports to court next month.

The case has moved further into the celebrity realm as the star of Dog The Bounty Hunter was the one who posted bail for Nicolas Cage. The TV star has told the media that he is acting solely in a professional capacity and not providing services to Cage in order to promote his show.

The case will be heavily influenced by the evidence provided by the tapes and eye witnesses, a Manhattan Criminal Lawyer said. As in many of these cases, it is possible that a deal will be reached with Cage before the scheduled court date.

Abused Toddler Suffers Brain Damage

The mother and aunt of a baby girl from Colorado Springs are accused of taping the child’s wrists, ankles, eyes and mouth with tape and then leaving her in a running shower. They are charged with attempted murder, and their trial is set to proceed.
The 19-year-old mother and 50-year-old aunt were in court last Friday for the preliminary hearing. It was there decided that enough evidence is available to proceed with a trial. In addition to the attempted first degree murder charge and child abuse, the mother has also been charged with two counts of crime of violence, each of which carry a sentence of up to 48 years in prison. A New York Criminal Attorney says that if found guilty, the young mother could spend the rest of her life in jail.
The 20-month-old victim is still in the hospital. She suffered brain damage from the abuse.
Police report that officers were called to the 2400 block of Farragut Avenue in Colorado Springs. They were told that a 20-month-old child was not breathing. When paramedics arrived on the scene, the little girl was unconscious. She was immediately taken to Memorial Hospital with serious bodily injuries.
Police revealed that further investigation into the incident uncovered that the injuries were not accidental. This led officers to arrest the victim’s mother and the other woman in the home.
A N York Criminal Attorney says that the arrest affidavit reported that when police arrived, the little girl was unconscious and not breathing and had black tape marks on her wrists, ankles, eyes and mouth. She was pronounced dead at 3:10 p.m., but just after 4 p.m., the investigating detectives were told the child was breathing again. Police in The Bronx and New York City are on call for these crimes.
According to the affidavit, the child’s mother told police that she had seen her aunt in the bathroom with her daughter at some point earlier in the day. Apparently, the toddler was lying in the shower, bound by tape, and being sprayed by water as a disciplinary action. The mother admitted that she did absolutely nothing to stop her aunt. She then went into a bedroom and fell asleep. The affidavit continues on, saying the aunt allegedly left the toddler in the bathroom with water running on her and then left the room and fell asleep.
A 7-year-old boy, of the same household, told the police that he was the one who later found the little girl in the bathroom. He ran to get help from the adult women. They called 911 as they tried to revive the child. The court document also reports that the 7-year-old boy said the aunt was mad at the little girl for knocking over her drink, and she had spanked her on the behind with a belt before bringing her into the shower.
The women are due back in court at the end of May.

Boyzone Singer Hits Possible Intruder and Causes a Brain Injury

Mikey Graham, of Boyzone fame, confronted a man being a nuisance at his home, and allegedly hit him so hard that other man was left with swelling in the brain.
The 22-year-old victim was “extremely lucky” doctors told him. Worse injuries could have easily been sustained in the incident that left him with “very intense” trauma.
Graham, according to his closest friends, said he was going to be leaving his home in Spain to return to Ireland to see what was needed from him in conjunction with the fallout from the altercation that took place at Graham’s €1m mansion 'Avalon,’ located at Courtlough, Balrothery, north Co Dublin. Even though this happened at the singer's home it is not considered domestic violence.
Beaumont Hospital doctors treated the victim’s head injury for six days in intensive care.
A New York Criminal Lawyer uncovered some of the details of the victim’s injury: "Before he was released late on Friday afternoon, [the 22-year-old] was told by medical staff at the St Luke's unit of Beaumount Hospital that he had suffered from a general swelling of the brain. He was told that he was extremely lucky not to have been left needing an operation or intensive physiotherapy."
The attacked man was still shaken and pale when he sat up and talked with doctors at the end of last week. His mother and other family members were at his bedside, and they have been charged by doctors to keep a close eye on their loved one while he recovers in the weeks ahead. Doctors suspect that he will need treatment for his brain injury in the future. He returned to his home in north Dublin to recover.
While the victim was being treated, the music star went to his home in Nerja, Spain, a fishing village on the seashore about 50km from Malaga, on the eastern tip of Malaga's Costa del Sol, supposedly for business purposes.
New York Criminal Law Offices uncovered some of the specifics of the incident: “The Boyzone singer apparently responded to incessant ringing of his front gate buzzer; he left his home via the back door of the property carrying a cricket bat. When he reached the front gate, he crouched behind a wall. When the intercom went off again, the singer swung the bat, injuring the 22-year-old.” One of the star’s friends said, “He (Graham) says he was absolutely terrified. He was frightened for his own safety and for that of his family. He just wanted to protect his home. He thought they (the men) could have been armed and felt he had to take action to protect his family.” The singer’s wife and daughter were in the house at the time of the incident. This kind of incident is common in Manhattan as well as Nassau County.
It is unclear if this incident is related to an earlier incident that occurred at the Man O’ War tavern.

Killer in The Bronx Also Mutilates Girlfriend’s Body

The suspect in the case of a man who stabbed his girlfriend to death did not only stab her. He didn’t even try to merely decapitate her. He attempted to destroy her face as well.
“It was pure anger,” a police source told New York Criminal Lawyers. The victim’s body was found, covered with blood, in an apartment on the Lower East Side. “He didn’t want her to leave and he didn’t want her to be beautiful for anyone else.”
According to the police, the 33-year-old suspect used several knives to slash his 23-year-old girlfriend, in a fit of rage. At one point, he cut her so hard that the tip broke from one of the blades.
She was killed by a stab wound in her neck. It left “a gaping stab wound to the left side of the torso from which internal organs were protruding”.
The suspect, a public relations worker, was held without bail. He has yet to enter a plea on his second-degree murder charge and has been placed on suicide watch.
He says the victim attacked him. New York City has many violent crimes like this one.
Prosecutors explained in their reports that the suspect was going to attempt to escape, but he called his father for advice as he fled. The suspect’s father told him it was best to turn himself in.
“There’s no way to hide,” the father reportedly told his son. “It would go easier on you… if you turned yourself in.”
“It’s a horror beyond words,” the father’s lawyer said. “His dad told him to do the right thing and he did.”
The fight in which the victim was killed was so loud it woke neighbors, witnesses recalled for New York City Criminal Lawyers. Police found blood everywhere.
The victim was a former student of Hunter College, currently working in sales. She was studying for a career in marketing and advertising.
The suspect was a freelancer, described by one of his clients as a “cool, chill guy” and had a young son from an earlier relationship.
“He wasn’t a monster,” the client said. “He was ambitious. This is not someone who goes around hacking people.”

City Crime Investigated by Authorities

There are criminal arrests that happen every day all over New York City. New York Criminal Law Firms are available to help.
The first story takes place in the Bronx, where a mother is accused of slapping her 8-year-old son in their home in Castle Hill. The 30-year-old woman hit the boy so hard that blood pooled in his right eye afterward, sources said.
The boy’s face swelled up on the right side, due to the open-handed blow on March 30 at 6 p.m., police revealed to New York Criminal Law Firms.
The mother was charged with assault and endangering the welfare of a child.
Elsewhere in the Bronx, this time in Fordam, another was charged with assault, in this case a man for hitting his girlfriend. A 27-year-old man allegedly punched the woman repeatedly in the face and pulled her hair. She got away from him, but a few days later, there was another assault and he attacked her again in a similar manner.
“Don’t stay in the living room or you’re going to get it,” he shouted at her while punching her in the face, according to court papers read by New York Criminal Law Firms. The victim sustained facial swelling and bruising, while the man was charged with assault and menacing.
Meanwhile, in Manhattan, a man was arrested for scalping counterfeit tickets to a Rangers game, near Madison Square Garden, authorities explained to investigators.
Officers caught the 48-year-old suspect trying to trying to sell nine tickets to a game against the Boston Bruins, court papers detailed. The suspect was charged with criminal possession of a forged instrument and fraudulent accounting.
In another Manhattan story, a shoplifter attempted to steal $1,770 worth of jewelry from a Macy’s in Herald Square, authorities detailed in their reports.
The 53-year-old suspect is said to have had 12 necklaces and seven earrings in her possession when security pulled her aside. According to sources, the suspect had already been banned from Macy’s last June for reasons that are yet unknown.
In this instance, the suspect was charged with burglary and grand larceny.

Children of violent custody battles in Colorado suffer long term emotional damage

Though divorce is more commonplace now than it ever has been, experts agree that it is still not a healthy example to set for a child. However, while most children come out the other side of divorce relatively unscathed, children of violent and particularly hostile custody battles suffer long term emotional effects, expressed a New York Criminal Lawyer. Children take their cues from the adults in their lives, and violence and hostility between the parents often becomes a pattern that is repeated throughout the adult life of the child.

A Colorado man was arrested last month after he stabbed another man in front of his ex-wife and child in a custody dispute. Police reports say the man accused of the stabbing was seen arguing with his ex-wife in front of their child and the woman’s friend. The fight escalated and when the woman’s friend tried to intervene, the irate ex-husband stabbed him and then proceeded to grab the young child and drive off with him.

The child was returned unharmed several hours later, but not before a 4 hour manhunt ensued, related the N York Criminal Lawyer. It is easy to understand how the effects of witnessing something so devastating as one’s father stabbing another man could be harmful, even detrimental to that child’s psyche and sense of right and wrong. As parents, it is our responsibility to mirror to our children the behaviors that we would like for them to exhibit when they are an adult. In this case, that child’s father has a lot of making up to do.

A Fort Meyers father is pursued following alleged abduction of his son across state lines

Following an intense situation of alleged parental child abduction, a man from Fort Meyers is said to have been found along with his son in the state of Michigan, to the joy of the boy’s mother.

Last October, a young boy in the midst of his parents’ divorce was abducted by his father following a warrant for the father’s arrest. The father and mother had previously divorced, and were sharing legal custody of the child in the form of legal visits with the father. When the father discovered that a warrant was issued for his arrest, he panicked. Following the confirmation of this warrant by way of a patrol car visible near the mother’s home, the father proceeded to flee with the boy.

It is the testimony of the mother that both father and son from Fort Meyers have been found in Michigan; however, as noted by a NY Criminal Lawyer, authorities have not verified this testimony on the part of the mother, who when asked to comment, replied, “I’ve been hoping for this every day. Today is the best day ever.”

The serious legal repercussions of this situation are specified by a New York Criminal Lawyer: according to the Lee County Sheriff’s office, the father was charged with “interference with the custody of a child”, which is a felony of the third degree in the state of Florida. It is also noted that the father was placed on the “10 Most Wanted list” of South West Florida’s Crime Stoppers.

Brooklyn Man Shows Great Remorse at Slaying

A Brooklyn man accused of the murder of his girlfriend during a domestic violence dispute sobbed apologies as police led him out of a police station in handcuffs.

“I’m sorry,” the suspect said, as he was led away from the 62nd Precinct stationhouse. “I loved [her]. I’m sorry to her family. I’m sorry for my children.”

His 34-year-old girlfriend was found dead in a bathtub in the suspect’s apartment. Prosecutors explained to a New York Criminal Lawyer that the woman had been beaten, strangled, and stabbed several times in the neck and body.

According to friends, the woman had gone to her boyfriend’s house to tell him the relationship was over.

“She went there to end it. That’s how he ended it,” a neighbor of the victim told authorities. “Jerk! He must have been real crazy.”

The suspect told a relative of his that he “lost it” and made a confession, according to police.
.
The 36-year-old suspect called his ex-wife in Long Island after the murder occurred and told her his girlfriend was “probably dead” after he “hurt her” as they argued in his apartment one afternoon. The ex-wife made an immediate call to Suffolk County police, who called the NYPD. Police discovered the body of the slain woman upon arrival, according to a Suffolk County Criminal Lawyer.

The suspect was ordered to undergo a psychiatric evaluation during a brief hearing after his arrest. He had been previously arrested for menacing and criminal possession of a weapon. He had nothing to say at that time.

A friend of the victim said the pair had only been dating a few months.
He said, “She told me he’s just not a good guy – a bad person.”

The family of the victim, including her father, gathered at the family home in the aftermath of the murder. They were attempting to console the victim’s 13-year-old daughter.

“She was a great girl, she had a beautiful daughter,” a relative who did not live with them said. The suspect has four children of his own. "He’s destroyed two families,” a relative said.

Often in a domestic violence case, there is more than one offense involved, such as a gun possession offense, sex crime, or drug possession offense. While the emotional scars from these offenses can never be erased, justice can be served.

Chris Brown Restraining Order Easement

An obsrver is not overwhelmed or even shocked that Chris Brown has had his sentence lightened after such a short period of time. Chris Brown is a famous R&B singer who at 21 years old has been sentenced to five years of probation, a one year domestic violence course, and community service.

Chris Brown was originally sentenced after pleading guilty to assaulting Rhianna, his ex-girlfriend, prior to the 2009 Grammy Awards. Even with the modified sentence, Brown is prevented from harassing or annoying Rhianna, but can speak to her if necessary. Rhianna’s lawyer stated that she was fine with the modified order. It has not yet been determined whether Chris Brown has completed the domestic violence course or the community service; however he is still on probation for the remainder of the five year sentence. The public is not outraged, but also not looking forward to the fallout if Brown and Rhianna get back together. Most fans feel that both artists are better off apart.

The question has been raised by fans of why Brown did not receive jail time or at least a harsher punishment, but sources show that Rhianna, her lawyer, and Brown’s lawyer came to an agreement for the lesser punishment. Rhianna did not push the issue of trial, maybe for fear of losing or Brown receiving no punishment, which may have happened had he had a good advisor. Public comments also reflect the thought that though Chris Brown is allowed to contact Rhianna, which he simply wanted the extended freedom to be able to attend awards shows. Fans and the public in general feel this break up, whether enforced by the law or not will enhance the careers of both artists for the better.

Whether Brown wishes to contact Rhianna or not, he now has the freedom to attend public events at the same time as her without fear of being in violation of a restraining order. So whether Brown’s goal is to boost the number of public appearances or to apologize to Rhianna in person does not really matter as he is allowed to do either without fear, explained a source. The only provision of the modified judgment is that Brown, if speaking to Rhianna, does so in a respectful manner. Brown may not harass or annoy Rhianna in any way, which should be common sense, but had to be placed in judicial writing. The same rules would apply in Brooklyn and Queens.

Though Chris Brown was not punished as severely as he could have been, his chances to remain completely free may have been enhanced by using a better advisor. If taken to court Brown’s lawyer may have been able to get probation without community service or domestic violence classes.
