Queens woman sold stolen shoes on eBay and gets Grand Larceny charges, reports a New York Criminal Lawyer

Darcheena Ray, a 34 year old South Ozone Park, Queens NY resident is facing a felony charge of Grand Larceny in the third degree after selling nearly $12,000.00 worth of stolen shoes on eBay. Ray was a customer service employee at Jimlar Corp., which sells high-end name brand shoes like Fryer Boots and Coach Shoes. Jimlar Corp.’s headquarters; which is the location Ray worked in; is located at 160 Great Neck Road, Great Neck NY 11021. They also have a showroom at 711 Fifth Street, New York NY 10019.
The thefts came to light after a customer tried to return the shoes purchased off the website. She did not have a receipt but had proof of the eBay transaction showing that the shoes were shipped to her from Jimlar. The company started an internal investigation since they do not sell shoes through eBay. Nassau County District Attorney’s Office took over the case and had Ray arrested. She will be sentenced in Nassau County First District Court, located at 99 Main Street, Hempstead NY 11550. Ray faces seven years in prison if convicted.
