A task force of New York’s Finest arrested 34 members of a Dominican drug gang, the Trinitarios that had been wreaking havoc recently in Washington Heights. The US attorney’s office has handed down additional indictments to seven others who are still at large. The leaders have been indicted for assault, conspiracy, and homicide among other charges. It has been documented that there are over 250 members of the gang. Unquestionably these include dozens of young people who were serving the gang as drug couriers or low-level distributors simply looking to someday rise to a more prominent position in the hierarchy. These are the ones who need a good New York Criminal Attorney. A NY Criminal Lawyer can help get these peripheral players reduced punishment for what may only be petty crimes, rather than having them charged similarly to the major members of the gang.

The firm of Stephen Bilkis & Associates and its NY Criminal Defense Attorneys and convenient locations in the Area including Soho, N. Y., can be helpful to you if you find yourself a defendant in a criminal case. Facing charges not having a NY Criminal Lawyer could lead to a very negative result.

A Correction Officer has sat alone in the Westchester county Jail in NY, having been charged with conspiracy and assault in the alleged beating of an inmate in August of last year. She is one of three others have been accused of having a secret fight club called “The Program.” They are also being charged with many other violations. The alleged abuse came to light after the death of inmate Christopher Robinson last October.

Although she insists she had nothing to do with “The Program” and was likely a peripheral participant, Ms. Albright is charged with being in cahoots Officers Michael McKie and Khalid Nelson who masterminded the club. Albright is saying she’s blamed only because she worked with McKie and Nelson. At the moment she is being held in the Westchester jail for her own protection in lieu of $50,000 bail.

Ms Albright and others in her situation in the New York Metropolitan area would be wise to reach out to a New York Criminal Lawyer. Not consulting with a NY Criminal Defense Attorney could lead to jail time for a defendant.

Yao Zhou and Jack Zaiback pulled their cars onto the shoulder of Staten Island’s West Shore Expressway to settle a dispute that may have begun on the highway. Highway Patrolman Gerald Sheehan’s car-mounted camera spotted the two men rolling on the ground. Sheehan separated them, seizing a sushi knife from Zhou in the process. Zhou was accused of slashing Zaiback across his face, head and body, resulting in Zaiback receiving approximately 100 stitches. Zaiback retaliated with his fists, opening a cut over Zhou’s eye. It is not known whether of not Zhou had an attorney but it is clear that he is in need of a NY Criminal Lawyer.

Both men were taken to Richmond County Criminal Court where they each pleaded not guilty to first-degree assault charges. Zhou’s bail was set at $20,000 while a judge released Zaiback with no bail set.

It is imperative if you or anyone close to you find yourself in a situation similar to this to hire a competent New York Criminal Lawyer well versed in the criminal laws of the New York City and Long Island.
