Nick Saban had to kick linebacker Jimmy Johns off the team after he was arrested on felony drug charges Tuesday. The player was found selling drugs on campus and arrested by police. He tried unsuccessfully to hide what he was doing from the coach and the team.

Bail was set and Johns was held at the metro jail and it was unknown whether or not he retained a lawyer.

J.J. Arrington was arrested after a fight at a nightclub.

The Arizona Cardinals running back was taken into custody with five others for disorderly conduct. The police in Rocky Mount said an off-duty cop called for help early Wednesday morning after the brawl erupted at the nightclub.

Authorities said that Arrington was held for 24 hours after being cited for contempt of court.

Carmelo Anthony was suspended for the fist two games of the season. He was arrested recently for DUI.

His team, The Denver Nuggets issued a statement which basically said they apologize for Anthony’s mistake and regret that incident happened. They said that they support Anthony and are sure that he is making every effort to solve whatever problem exists. They are confident that this is a one time mistake and that it would not happen again. The Nuggets front office had no further comment.

Anne Hathaway’s significant other has been charged with felonies including, wire fraud conspiracy and money launding.

Raffaello Follieri must appear in federal court on Tuesday to answer charges that he lied to an investor when he said he was named the chief financial officer of the Vatican.

Authorities say he claimed that, as a result of that connection, he and others could obtain properties of the Catholic church in the United States at a substantial discount to fair market value.

Jevon Kearse of The Titans has been arrested for DUI/DWI on the campus of Vanderbilt University. Kearse’s car was out of control and the DE was stopped early Sunday morning.

The NFLer was released later in the day after he was taken into custody. By refusing to take a breathalyzer he was arrested by Tennessee law. If you refuse the test you are implying guilt.

Calvin Hutton Houghland accosted the singer twice as she say in the celebrity section of the club. The man was taken out of the bar, but returned again. Houghland claimed that he was assaulted by the security police at the bar.

Marshawn Lynch, a running back with the Buffalo Bills lost his driver’s license in traffic court after he claimed he didn’t know he hit someone while driving in the Western NY city of Buffalo last month.

Lynch was charged a small amount of money and admonished by Administrative Law Judge Thomas Gagola who said that the NFL player showed a lack of regard for life and property in the situation.

Lynch who played at California in college was driving his in the city’s bar district and that’s when the incident happened. Lynch said that he saw a woman dancing in the street but didn’t think he hit her as the rain poured down heavily. Apparently some other woman was the one who was hit.l

James Keown was convicted of first degree murder of his wife. He is a former radio reporter for a station in Missouri. He poisoned his spouse with antifreeze which he put in her Gatorade. He was sentenced to life in prison with no hope of parole.

Prosecutors maintained that Keown killed his wife over several months in order to collect on her $250,000 life insurance policy. He owed a significant amount of money.

Keown’s lawyer, Matthew Feinberg, argued that Julie Keown’s death was an accident. There was no trace of antifreeze found in the Keowns’ home.

Phillip Bennett, head of Refco Inc. got sixteen years for fraud. The sentence was read in Federal Court by Judge Naomi Reice Buchwald and based on losses he had caused.
