Chris Herren who played in the NBA was arrested after his car crashed into a pole. He was found unconscious from an overdose of drugs and a large amount of heroin was uncovered in the car. He was also charged with DWI/DUI.

Police reported that they found the heroin in a small blue and a a hypodermic needle was also in the car. It was pretty obvious that the basketball player was overdosed.

The ex Celtic and Denver Nugget was taken to the Charlton Memorial Hospital and was said to be in decent shape. No court date is on the calender for the charges he faces which include possession of a class A drug and reckless driving of an automobile.

Rikki Rockett, the drummer for Poison has been cleared of charges of rape of a woman in Mississippi. The authorities determined that he was not in the state when the crime occurred.

Police now say that they are looking for a man who has a reputation of posing as a rock musician to allure women into his web.

Rockett was accused of the crime but said that he was in California at the time. This turned out to be the case. He was with his fiance while she picked out a wedding dress and the authorities in Mississippi dropped charges.

As part of her June cocaine possession arrest, Tatum O’Neal has pled guilty to disorderly conduct in lower Manhattan.

The Judge, Elisa Koenderman has ordered O’Nea to attend sessions in a drug treatment program as well as coughing up a $95 surcharge. Tatum must meet these conditions in order to have the charges dismissed.

In 1973 O’Neal was awarded the Oscar for best supporting actress for her performance in “Paper Moon.” She’s the youngest to receive the Academy Award.

The prosecution began and ended the trial of R. Kelly by playing the graphic sex tape depicting sex crimes which is the crux of the case.

The defense claims that the tape is not accurate and that singer Kelly is not the man on the tape and the youngster is not who the prosecution says she is.

The jury has been in deliberation since Thursday afternoon and continued into the evening. The jury is composed of three-woman and nine males and they have the images of the tape fresh in their heads as they begin to sort things out in this case.

Marcus Vick, the younger brother of Michael, was taken into custody after trying to escape from police. He was stopped and pulled over and found to be DWI.

Vick, like the brother played College Football at Virginia Tech and was playing in the NFL with the Miami Dolphins. He was released last year by Miami

Vick sped away from arresting officers after he was stopped when the officers saw a fight with a woman going on. Vick took off when he was asked to produce his driver’s license. He was caught later and didn’t get very far.

A mother and father tied their son to a tree as punishment for disobedience and by leaving him outside for two nights, caused his death. The couple have been charged with murder according to the police.

Brice Brian McMillan described the events to authorities and admitted that the boy was forced to sleep outside while bound to the tree The child was behaving badly and this was the way the parents chose to punish him.

Sheriff James Knight reported that the child was found by his grandma who found him tied with plastic and other types of twine.

Nick Saban had to kick linebacker Jimmy Johns off the team after he was arrested on felony drug charges Tuesday. The player was found selling drugs on campus and arrested by police. He tried unsuccessfully to hide what he was doing from the coach and the team.

Bail was set and Johns was held at the metro jail and it was unknown whether or not he retained a lawyer.

J.J. Arrington was arrested after a fight at a nightclub.

The Arizona Cardinals running back was taken into custody with five others for disorderly conduct. The police in Rocky Mount said an off-duty cop called for help early Wednesday morning after the brawl erupted at the nightclub.

Authorities said that Arrington was held for 24 hours after being cited for contempt of court.

Carmelo Anthony was suspended for the fist two games of the season. He was arrested recently for DUI.

His team, The Denver Nuggets issued a statement which basically said they apologize for Anthony’s mistake and regret that incident happened. They said that they support Anthony and are sure that he is making every effort to solve whatever problem exists. They are confident that this is a one time mistake and that it would not happen again. The Nuggets front office had no further comment.

Raffaello Follieri must appear in federal court on Tuesday to answer charges that he lied to an investor when he said he was named the chief financial officer of the Vatican.

Authorities say he claimed that, as a result of that connection, he and others could obtain properties of the Catholic church in the United States at a substantial discount to fair market value.
