A number of different witnesses are scheduled to take the stand in the child pornography trial against R&B superstar R. Kelly. The witnesses will try to identify the alleged teen age girl in the sex tape. This tape has become the most important piece of evidence in the case. There is testimony from Simha Jamison who says she was friends with the girl. She identified the girl as the one on the tape with Kelly.

R. Kelly is on trial for making the down and dirty tape with the under aged young girl. Kelly is a black music star and he and the girl are identified by the victim’s childhood friend. Relatives of the youngster also testified that she was the girl on the tape with Kelly. This happened after the prosecution played the tape for the jurors a couple of days ago. The relatives were said to be an aunt and an uncle.

Former French Open champion Yannick Noah is not fazed that his son Joakim was arrested for possession of marijuana and having an open cup of some sort of alcohol on his person.

The NBA forward and former Florida Gator star was arrested Sunday in Gainesville, Florida. A policeman saw him on a sidewalk holding a plastic cup. After taking Noah to the station they searched him and discovered that he had some marijuana in his pocket.

Yannick Noah didn’t see what the big deal was. He was asked his opinion as he attended The French Open and said he saw nothing wrong with having a beer on the street.

The person who is generally credited with the creation of two of the major “Boy Bands” in the music business has been sentenced to 25 years in prison on four federal charges.

But his sentence could be reduced significantly if Pearlman can make restitution. The judge made the offer to reduce the time Lou Pearlman would have to serve. For every million he pays back, his sentence would be reduced by a month. Investors who were cheated were ecstatic by this unusual ruling by the bench.

Pearlman pleaded guilty in March to two counts of conspiracy. He laundered money and used false statements to defend a bankruptcy proceeding. He is most famous for creating The Back Street Boys and In Sync that sold millions of records. He is accused of stealing millions from investors over the years. Prosecutors promised to procede aggressively against the impressario.

Police took the Bentley belonging to The Game. the car was towed and received a summons for expired tags. No doubt the rapper was not happy about this. The police who removed the car didn’t seem to care that The Game was on.

Early last evening, the rapper was stopped in Glendale, CA. and was cited by cops for the having tags which were not up to date and for having a suspended Drivers’ License proof of insurance. Glendale PD spokesperson John Balian said that the tags were at least six months expired.

DMX has pleaded not guilty to felony drug possession and misdemeanor animal cruelty charges.

A judge entered the plea for the musician-actor (real name: Earl Simmons) at a brief court hearing Thursday. Simmons was late for court.

The 37-year-old rapper was indicted last week on 11 counts, including marijuana and paraphernalia possession and seven counts of misdemeanor animal cruelty.

TV and Movie star Dennis Farina was detained at LAX when it was discovered that a loaded .22 caliber gun was in his carry-on luggage. Farina who has starred in Law and Order for many years and often has played roles on one side of the law or the other has apologized for the incident.

“Farina was very apologetic and cooperative with officers,” police said, reports New York’s Daily News. The actor, 64, was released on $35,000 and promptly issued a statement.

Farina’s lawyer explained what happened and posted bail for the actor. One time Velvet Revolver member Scott Weiland entered jail in California. He will serve eight days for a second DUI/DWI conviction. A report from the sheriff’s office said that Weiland showed up on time to begin his sentence on Monday.

The wayward singer has been sentenced to a jail term and ordered to pay thousands in fines for his various DUIs. He has been attending a class on alcohol rehabilitation and education. He also pleaded no contest to a previous DUI charge on April 28.

Weiland, 40, has had any number of collisions with the authorities over the years: He was convicted of DUI after a 2003 apprehended in LA arrested on domestic-violence charges in 2001, and arrested for illegal use and possession of drugs in the 1990s.

Josh Werkman who manages the careers of children has pleaded no contest to a charge of child molestation and a charge of selling of alcohol to a minor. Werkman’s plea was entered this week in Los Angeles Superior Court. He will be sentenced on April 2.

The theatrical manager controls the careers of Cole and Dylan Sprouse who star in the the Disney Channel’s “The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.” The Sprouses were NOT mentioned as being a party to this case. Merimark Entertainment produces the series and Werkman has also produced the Sprouse twins’ two latest screen releases.

Anthony Pellicano, a PI, was convicted Thursday on federal racketeering charges for using his connections to find out information for his well to do clients so that they could use this info to their advantage in lawsuits and divorces as well as contract disputes against celebrities.

Pellicano, 64, was accused of eavesdropping on people like Sylvester Stallone, Gary Shandling and Kevin Nealon. He used his connections with law enforcement and their records and databases to help clients in their court battles which usually involved large amounts of money.

Pellicano was convicted of racketeering and racketeering conspiracy counts. The indictment has the movie and entertainment community talking a streak about who might be name down the line. Privileged info could also come it light embarrassing some and bringing a smile to others.

After an argument which ended in gun play, Makeda Barnes Joseph was injured. Remy Ma, aka Remy Smith, was sentenced to 8 years’ jail for her involvement in the encounter last summer. Remy and Joseph argued over money in NYC. Remy’s gun went off. Remy maintained that the gun was not meant to go off…it was an accident.

Remy cried when she got her sentence. Eight years was a long time but she got off lightly. She could have gotten 25 years for her obvious street sensibility and stupidity.
